Is there a way to access Rolex service information?

Hello everyone

I have serviced back in 2008 my P series Daytona in Germany. The watch was given to an AD in Regensburg but they mentioned it will send to a big city ... then got a written bill from the store and NOT Rolex bill for some €500 ...

Should I have asked about the Rolex official bill ... and does that mean it might not have been serviced by Rolex?

In 2004 I had issues with the watch and Rolex NYC had a Balance Complete replacement for free though it was out of warranty. I have that bill from Rolex.

I am in process to sell the watch but need to provide the buyer correct information about the watch and the bill of 2008 ... As I recall I had again issues with it and unfortunately I was not anymore in NYC residing and my best option was Germany ....

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I always go to RSC, but I was under the impression the ADs provide a "Rolex letterhead" invoice with the AD's details when servicing. Did you get a Rolex service card with 2 years warranty or not? If not, they probably did the work in-house, which is pretty much equivalent to having a 3rd party service job.

As you waited more than 10 years to dig into this, there is not much you can do at this point. It's actually time for a new service! This service by the AD without a Rolex receipt is not a problem. What would concern me more as a buyer is that your 2000-2001 watch (P serial) had issues just 3 years later... Just be upfront with your buyer and that's the best you can do!

Just Offer to split the cost of a new service ($400 each). That will get the watch to RSC and buyer will feel better. Plenty of good Rolex trained and certified watch makers out there. In fact, today, Rolex wants an In house watch maker at their boutique locations.

I have a feeling I will loose some resale value but wonder at what price should I accept a deal ... any advice or range you think would be reasonable for me and the potential buyer ... thank you

If the watch hasn't been serviced since 2008, this would be the way to move forward.

Market value of a P serial watch is the same, depending on originality and condition. A service from more than a decade ago, regardless of who did it, will not add or detract value.
