RSC Manila

Hello to everyone,

I am planning on getting my Daytona (2015) serviced at RSC in Makati, Manila. I want to get it polished as well. Does anyone have previous experience with them polishing a watch? If so how was it for you?

Thanks in advance!

I would presume RSC skills are more or less consistent across the world. It depends on the condition of your watch. In any case, the 116520 does not have any sharp edges to begin with, so I wouldn't be concerned.

I would not be concerned sending my watch to any official RSC.
It's not easy to become a watchmaker and find employment at a Rolex owned repair facility.
Have a bit faith

Thanks for the reply everyone, I will take my Daytona in on Thursday, and update with Pic's when she comes back.

It’s a fairly new model, why does it need to be serviced?

Ripped off? Care to share your experience?

Its out of warranty, simple as that. I just like to keep my items "serviced" at the right times. Daft I know, as its running perfect time and is part of a rotation. Will get a light polish done on it as well.

I could be wrong here but.....

I would definitely not presume this

Some of the places I’ve been to, I would presume they barely know what a watch is

I think service cost is pretty much at par, at around 35k ($700) for a Daytona overhaul. They are quite good. Not perfect, but good.

I opted for no polish, so would be interested in the outcome.

As I said before, polishing, to me, is an art and I would prefer to personally vet the watchmaker’s skill before I hand over my watch.

RSC Manila will not disclose the name of the assigned technician, which is a shame, cos the guy who did mine did a great job with the overhaul (+0.25 sec/day).

Agree. I think service might be premature. I have a Sub that is 27-ish years still running like new.

I think you are a bit early, service recommendations are every 7-10 years. Plus, service warranty is only 2-years, so you would be servicing it every other year if your going by warranty.

You are totally wrong and can assure you all RSC world wide would most certainly know what a watch was, and service exactly to Rolex spec.

I suggest you reconsider Kabayan. It’s too early for a service especially if it is running at COSC specs.

That said, I was told that the more senior watchmakers are assigned to service Daytonas. The junior watchmakers do the OPs and simpler references. I just had a service this year, but mine had a broken crown stem.

How can you be so sure?

I think Padi can pretty much be sure since the premise is quite easy to overcome:

1. RSC would know what a watch is; and
2. Perform service according to Rolex specs. It is, after all, an official RSC.

I know of two in Manila - the Makati one is in Glorietta 3 and the other is near the airport Hilton. I don't think I would trust the Glorietta one....
