Bezel and dial and bracelet swap questions

So I’ve always heard different stories relating to dial swaps, just seeing if anyone has some more clarification.

When doing a Dial or bezel change must it go in for a service as well ?
Can ADs perform dial and bezel swaps at the store?
Or do any RSC able to change dial or bezel on the spot?
If I have a diamond dial originally and want to purchase a non diamond dial I can keep both dials?
But if I have originally a regular non diamond dial I can’t keep it if I want to change to a different dial?
What are costs for dials on dj36 and dd40?
What about bezels? If I have a fluted can I keep it and purchase a diamond bezel oem from Rolex?
What about bracelets? Am I able to purchase a new jubilee bracelet and keep my old one?
What is the Price of a 2 tone gold jubilee for a DJ 36?

Thanks for everyone’s help.

Bezel and dial and bracelet swap questions

You have to exchange. They will take your old dial if you upgrade. Perhaps but it privately and have an independent install. Rolex will not change bezels as it will change the model number with the exception of a diamond bezel upgrade on a day date only or ladies hold Datejusts a ladies president.

When you take a watch in for service, at Rolex HQ in NYC - it's like for like.

When they swap your old black dial on your submariner for a new one, you lose the dial. They can't let that be available on the market, even if you want it for sentimental reasons.

Nor will they put it on a jubilee, nor will they give you the GMT bezel instead of the sub.

If you go with a guy who repairs watches he can do whatever you want for you.

As I understand it, AD/RSC would not do a swap for diamond bezel at all on the DD40, because the diamond bezel model is a different reference, so that swap would make the reference number on the case inaccurate. I’d guess it would be the same story on the DJ36, but idk about the DJ reference numbers.

Dial swaps are common, but they are exchange; no service needed.

Bezel swaps change the reference number, so RSC will not do that.

Bracelets are usually exchange too, but if the head does not have one, they can be purchased.

Rolex will not put anything on your watch that was not an option for that model at the time of purchase.

I called the Dallas RSC about a year ago about a dial swap on a DJII. So long as it was available for my reference they would do it, apprx $700. However, they said I would also be required to have a service done on the watch, another $800. Net $1500 for a different dial. I passed.

I'd keep the mods for your Seiko's brother. Mods may be cool for an SKX, but not for any Rolex

At one time ...your long list was possible to execute without much cost
Today via the official channels is costly and down right impossible

You can still do it ..you have to buy original parts from eBay
and have your watchmaker perform the changes....changes that require ...
elementary knowledge of watchmaking ...
