Rolex Service Bracelet

Do you know if Rolex accepted watches for service if they are sent with a bracelet?

Rolex will service any authentic Rolex, regardless of the bracelet/strap, so long as it is not counterfeit.

As Larry said, as long as the watch itself is authentic they'll service it.

I've personally sent a watch into RSC Dallas with no bracelet and they didn't bat an eye. Only thing is my service invoice is marked "received without bracelet."

I received a quote yesterday from RSC Dallas for a 16710 full service. In addition I asked for an Oyster bracelet service. They are replacing the rivet on the safety lever clasp and repairing both ends of the bracelet. $154 just for the bracelet service.

Yes, if your bracelet is authentic and correct.

Yes. But you will not be given a credit for the old bracelet. I have no idea what the price difference is if you send in the old bracelet. You can actually send it in with the old bracelet on, get a replacement and ask for the old one back.

Call them! They are very informative and friendly.

Mine is, but how would that ever be determined by RSC if they just received the watch head without a bracelet. Asking out of pure curiosity.

Sorry to hijack this thread but now I'm curious.

I have a 16710 with a pepsi insert and oyster bracelet. Can I remove the bracelet and insert then send it RSC and request a jubilee bracelet and coke insert???

They may only replace them with what the watch originally came with, but they will replace them. The price is higher though without the originals to exchange.

When I sent a 16700 to RSC NY they gave me the choice of all 3 inserts.

They typically just charge more if there's no part to exchange. I removed the bezel, insert and tension ring from my GMT when I sent it in so I could get a second complete bezel and they replaced them with little hesitation.

I'm going to call Monday and see if I can get a definitive answer.

Do you recall what that cost?

They cost a lot. I would just send the old bracelet in to get a discount on the new one.

I'm looking to add, not replace.

What is the point of keeping a worn out bracelet?

Yes, Rolex will accept watches for service if they are sent with a bracelet. Every service I’ve had them do, my watches have had bracelets.

Are you really saying the bracelet is aftermarket? Or that you’re sending it in without a bracelet?

Thanks.

When I get home I'll check the invoice.

People like to keep all the original parts. Personally I think there's some value in having the original and replacement compared to just the replacement. Also, if you're shelling out the money for a replacement bracelet it's not prohibitively more expensive to spend the extra money and not have to turn your old one in.

Thanks for the explanation. It is interesting that people will value a worn out steel bracelet. I don't find myself in that group, but people are entitled to their values and their opinions. I never did see a used Rolex up for sale that was accompanied by worn out parts such as bracelets.

definitely can see why it matters to some and not to others. Same thing with box/papers/accesories

The thing with a worn out bracelet is it can be repaired and I don't like the idea of it just going into the scrap heap.

I never once said my bracelet was worn out. It’s in perfect condition.

I’m simply asking if i can send it to RSC without a bracelet and add a jubilee to my existing oyster.

I would like to know if I can send in an authentic Rolex watch with other brands strap attached (rubber B, Everest...etc) to RSC? Or should I take them off?

You should take them off. No point in sending them anyway.

YES! But to be 100% certain, call the Dallas RSC and ask them! They are very informative and accommodating. NYC RSC said NO to the Pepsi bezel insert. They don't know what they're doing, or talking about since the 16710 can have any pf the 3 bezel inserts it originally came available with - Coke, Pepsi or all Black. There is no way to tie the watch to the original bezel color based on the serial #. The only way is to have the original paper work (and the RSC doesn't care about the original paper work).

I did the same with my Coke bezel 16710. I called and asked Dallas RSC if I send them my 16710 without my Coke bezel insert would they replace it with a Pepsi bezel insert. The answer was YES. You can do the same with the bracelet. But be prepared to pay up for that jubilee bracelet. It's not cheap. Should be at least $1200. The Pepsi bezel insert will be less than $100.

I'm getting it done as we speak. Dallas RSC is replacing the bezel insert with a Pepsi and servicing my bracelet. I sent my authorization of the estimate yesterday. Since I also opted for the full service they are servicing the movement, replacing the crown, gaskets and polishing the watch. I'm basically getting back a brand new watch. Can't wait.

In Canada at least you can walk into the RSC with your GMT on the Oyster ask them for a Coke Bezel insert and a Jubilee bracelet and they will supply them and you can keep your original bezel insert and bracelet. Or at least that’s what RSC Toronto told me in March this year.

The original bracelet has snapped and I’m not interested in paying $1200 or so for a brand new one. Maybe sometime in the future.

Look for a pre-owned bracelet or just put it on a strap until you find a replacement. Also look up Michael Young and see if can work his magic on repairing it.

I phoned up the UK RSC last week and asked the same question
a Jubilee bracelet is £900 and the bezel is £56. They said I could send head only and they would also return my old bezel. The said ll I have to do is take the watch to the nearest AD and they would do the rest. Turn around up to 10 days

At RSC Singapore, I sent in my explorer 2 without a bracelet. You can buy the bracelet from them (in my case the 78790) as long as they still have stock for it.

For the bezel and other parts though, apparently its a one-to-one thing, if you replace it, they will keep the old ones and not return them to you. I guess it's to control the number of Rolex parts out there in the grey market.
