214270 & Black Bay 41
I just purchased a new Tudor Black Bay 41 last week to compliment
my Exp. MKII which I’ve owned and worn for over 2 years. I purchased the Black Bay 41 on the fabric strap so I can swap straps which I will never do with my Explorer. I really like the watch and have always wanted a nice watch with the 2824-2, which I’ll admit may be a bit odd since I’ve owned 3 Rolex watches with the 3135 or 3132. I’ve always read the 2824-2 is a workhorse and mine is keeping consistent time within +3 a day which is exactly what I was hoping for. The Explorer is my favorite Rolex and this 41 is my favorite Tudor, combined with my SKX007 and a G-Shock I can comfortably now say I am 100% satisfied with my collection. It’s only taken approx. 30+ years to reach this point. I was less than 10 yrs. old when I became infatuated with watches, it all started with Casio and Swatch watches. I can safely say I’m finished because I'll never be able to afford my grail, a Patek, and that is a-okay with me. Contentment is very satisfying, now I can wear my collection in peace and with fulfillment. I feel fortunate to have owned (in order) a Tag Heuer, Omega Seamaster, a DateJust and Sub 16610 over the past 20+ years. Right now my Highschool and College age children don’t care about watches but hopefully that will change when they get mine, in the meantime I’ll wear and enjoy them. |

The Black Bay line is awesome! And I understand your wanting a good, no-nonsense, ETA movement! Something very appealing about a proven movement that you could bring to any decent watchmaker and they can fix it right up for a song.

Congrats! Thats a sharp and clean looker in person. When I went to see one at an AD two years ago I ended up with a Ranger then a Heritage BB41eta. No worries with a 2824/2. Enjoy!!...

I dig it, good write up. Being content with your collection is so satisfying, I bought an Explorer to compliment a G-Shock and Timex, and I'm happy. I've owned a bunch of other Rolex pieces in the past, and finally settled on just having one and I couldn't be happier with it.

Congratulations! I got one back in July (blue face on leather) and appreciate the simplicity of the dial so much. Great watch which, to your point, keeps remarkably accurate time.

Thank you everyone.
It’s been running consistently +3 a day, very impressed with the consistent accuracy + how light and comfortable it wears on the Tudor fabric “nato” strap. |
