First incoming - could not be happier!
I was really starting to wonder whether I was going to be able to get a submariner… TLDR I did and could not be happier.
I am based in Chicago, but I am temporarily working in Stuttgart, Germany. I am here for 6 months helping to develop a relationship between my employer in Chicago, and our affiliate firm based in Germany. I turn 29 on November 29, and I really wanted to commemorate both my European adventure and my golden birthday with a submariner. I’ve watched/read everything I could find on the 114060, and on the submariner’s history. I absolutely love the reference, and once I tried one on at a grey dealer I knew that it was the watch for me. I have a German prepaid phone, and when I received a call yesterday at around 13:30 it was at literally 1% battery. Even wilder. The phone was tucked away in my laptop bag and is USUALLY on silent. For some reason I must have switched the phone off of silent and I was able to hear the phone ring. A call came in from a number that I recognized as a Baden-Württemberg phone number (the German state in which Stuttgart is located), and it was Tim, on of the SA’s from the local Rolex AD. He was calling to let me know that they had a submariner for me. It took a lot of self-control not to start screaming with joy, but I politely thanked him and let him know I’d be in at 17:30 to collect the watch. I arrived at the AD and they offered me champagne to celebrate the purchase! I chatted about watches, food, wine, and the upcoming holidays with Tim and the owner Marvin (who are both wonderful people). I am so happy with the experience they provided, and I am in love with the watch. I did ask if SS sports moels were starting to ship more frequently and received a sly smile, but don't worry, there is hope! Be yourself and get to know SA's at your local AD. Be nice, have fun, and you never know when they'll set aside your dream watch for you. Prost!

Congratulations! Great story. Stuttgart is a great city. Be sure to take the Porsche factory tour. Very worthwhile. Also if you like zoos Stuttgart has one of the best in Europe.
