Advice for a Clumsy New Rolex Owner: Everest Straps
Hi All,
So - Got my new Sub ( no longer shall I refer to it as "No Date" thanks to the advice I received in my last post ). Thinking about what would be nice - I now have a Chestnut Everest strap on route. There seems to be a ton of posts on how to change the strap - but I thought I'd triage it all here. To be honest - I'm just not that handy. Taking some of the "post" advice, I've ordered the Everest Tool with the watch. Recognizing that I've only done this on Seiko Divers with lug holes - What are the primary Do's and Don'ts for my first shot at this and what steps can I take to be the least likely to screw up? ( I'd take - Go to the jewelry store if need be. ) Thanks! |

Tape the lugs to help avoid scratching. Take your time.

may be you should practice it using a less expensive watch first, if you got one handy.

If you got it from an AD and that AD is nearby with an inhouse watch maker, why not just let them change it?

I'd get the Bergeon tweezers if you're going to attempt this with a modern Rolex. Getting it off likely won't be the problem...it will be getting it back on that could be an issue.

Do a google search on the Bergeon 7825 Tweezers. It's made bracelet removal and installation a lot easier on my watches. Learned that 2 years later after I already added dings haha.
