Stolen rolex submariner london
I had my rolex submariner date (2018 model) serial number 2811n4s0 stolen from me in July of this year at a festival in Gunnersbury Park.
I know it is quite a time ago now but decided I would continue to search and post here in case anyone was to come across it. It was a random attack and was shook having it taken. Thankfully no injuries. No insurance... my own fault i know |

Sorry to hear that. I read yesterday where 20 people were robbed while wearing a Rolex or broken into their house in London. If I'm in an area where I feel there's some shady people I try my best not to call attention. I rather put it in my pocket until I'm in a more comfortable area. It's a shame we have to live this way but that is the world we live in now. People have no respect and just want to take things from others who worked hard to have a nice watch. Always be alert.. because when you least expect it, it could happen to anybody. Hope you get your watch back but I think that's a long shot. Good luck..

Oh that’s terrible, sorry to hear it. Glad you aren’t hurt. It’s a sad reality that those people/circumstances exist.
Good luck recovering your watch. |

I lived in London for four years and worked in London for fifteen. I was attacked by a knife wielding thug at Warren Street tube station in the early 1980s., while on my way to work at 8.30AM. My flatmate was mugged in our street in broad daylight. People all around us were burgled, an object was once thrown through a closed window from the street, and I've been verbally abused in the street. I've never been under any illusion about how dangerous London can be. And I've never supposed that any built up area is necessarily safer. Situational awareness, keeping alert and not drawing attention to yourself doesn't guarantee anything, but it almost certainly stacks the odds more favourably.
On my next foreign jaunt I'm taking the Ball GMT and leaving the Polar at home. It's just something I feel I should do. There's no conscious reason I can think of, but maybe these anecdotes and reports are making more of an impression on me. I'll be at a domestic hotel for a 3 day business meeting next week. I'll be sporting my Sky Dweller and several people will want to talk to me about it. But in public areas, the car park, even going to a loo, it will be above my wrist bone and under a long sleeve or two. I've always done this. When I bought the Sky Dweller from a grey dealer in December I had my wits about me at all times. I dressed plain and grubby and carried a grubby shopping bag. I parked around the corner so that I wouldn't be seen getting out of a flash car outside the dealer. I also checked all around before I got in back in the car that no one was nearby. And of course, if anyone had attacked me I would have given it up. |

I spent part of my childhood living in London. And as an adult, returned 4 times since for work and vacation. Not once did I ever feel unsafe, threatened or at risk of being robbed. Theft can happen anywhere, and still feel safer traveling in and around London than I do elsewhere.

To the OP, make sure you report the watch as stolen to Rolex (and the police). I had my Sub date stolen from a gym. It was recovered, but only made it back to me as I'd reported the serial number to Rolex. When the police returned the watch back to Rolex for authentication, they were able to inform them of my details. Theres more detail about what happened in one of my very first posts.
Really sorry this happened to you, do everything you can though so if the watch is ever recovered, or goes back to Rolex for a service, you can be identified.

Sorry to learn of this. However, a watch can be replaced ... it's not that easy with people. Glad you're OK.

This is the first thing we should think of when we are faced with any type of material damage or loss.
I’m having. Feeling that the scarcity of Rolex SS models and the huge price those models can fetch has generated groups of thieves dedicated to it. Rolex hunters !

Sheep, sheep dogs, wolves. Like my ancestors that left there to come here in the 1600's, we've always been ready to protect ourselves from the wolves.

In the original context of the Constitution the wolves being the a Federal Govt. and the sheep dogs being the local militia forces? Not sure how that helps today when some kid is shooting up a school.....?

Oh, forgot. When I lived in London I had my car nicked. And then my next car nicked.
I don't want to carry a gun. The probability that I would use it is too high. As a rule of thumb, I believe that if you want a gun, that should automatically disallow you. |
