My 114270 bracelet annoying problem
I newly registered to ask for help from you guys about my bracelet. I purchased my Explorer 114270 last year. I love it for its pure and simple design and well balanced dial. The bracelet is light and I enjoy the feeling of wearing it. But there is one thing bothers me a lot which is the position of the clasp.
I have a 6 1/2 inch wrist and I have 6 pcs links(including endlink) on 6 o'clock side (I dont have a choice since that is the minimum you can have by default). Now the problem is, the 6 o'clock side is too long for me, which means if I put the clasp in the right position, the watch will be pushed to the 12 o'clock position side. If I put the watch is upright position on my wrist, then after hours of wearing, the clasp moves and the watch moves clockwise. My question is how to fix the very link which connects the clasp from 6 o'clock side? I CAN NOT remove the link simply because it connected to the clasp by default. But I can never put my watch right Please help me.......(I am still figuring out how to insert pics.........) |

For small wrists, the fix has always been the removal of one of the permanent links.

On the 6 o’clock side, I have three permanent and one 1/2 link instead of the one permanent link. I sourced the half link online. Less then $100. Result is, the clasp is centered on the underside of my wrist and the watch stays anchored with the watch head centered on the top of my wrist. By the way, I have a 6 1/2 inch wrist.

I had an issue with my 14060M clasp position and ran out of removable links in the 6 side.
I rotated the clasp and this fixed the issue but I couldn’t handle the ‘look’ and the reverse fastening.

How about reversing the bracelet?
I have 6 inch wrists myself. I have tried link removal and reversing bracelet (on two different explorers) Both come out as a perfect fit. I understand what you mean with link removal. There is a visible step in the bracelet continuity. If this bothers you reverse bracelet and it should fit you well. Hope this helps. Steve. |

I also have a 6 inch wrists and just purchase 114270 weeks ago. The shop I bought it from adjust it to have 5 links on both side of bracelets. It fit perfectly for me but the clasp is not in the middle position. Will share the picture here later time. |

I remember having this problem and it annoyed me to no end. Sold the Exp and got an Exp II with the same problem but now I’m used to it and can live with it.
If you remove one permanent link it will look funny. No easy choice here. |

As much as I love the 5 digits - for this reason alone on bracelet comfort - I tend to stay away from them. But I would say on the 16570 I did have - I got RSC St James to remove one perm link and it didn't look funny at all - it wasn't noticeable. Unfortunately I no longer have the watch to show you a pic.
Good luck. |

Here's the pics of my 114270 bracelet with my 6 inch wrist.
5 links on both side of bracelets. (I have 2 removable links left) It's quite weird that when I try the 14060m Submariner, the shop try to adjust the bracelet to the shortest possible and it really can't fir properly on my wrist. I can almost put like 2-3 fingers between |

A lot of people ask about this. Rolliworks seems to have a more elegant solution than just removing a permanent link.

We’ve actually started removing the 5th link and converting the 4th link to be a clasp connect. We like this approach much better. Its easy for us to reverse at anytime.
