Incoming first Rolex
Been eying up my first Rolex for a while now. The one that really pulled me in and fell in love with was a Sub no date with patina. However common sense was telling me for my first Rolex get a new one. Managed to get on two AD’s list and at least one seemed very genuine and gave me wait time of 2 years but did say could be sooner.
However I realised the watch I truly wanted was a 5513 with patina. So decided will stay on the AD lists but if I can only have one watch for now has to be a 5513. Realised also I preferred the ones with the WG dials. Tried one on in London but it was a 1975 with a replacement WG surrounds dial and did want it to be for the most part all original. Bought the one below on Chrono24 and the seller was excellent. Answered all my questions and despite them being in northern Italy and going into lock down due to Covid-19 got the watch to me in the UK in 2 days. Absolutely delighted with the condition. Doesn't have papers but tbh no plan to sell I’m not a connoisseur of Rolex so although I’m delighted with the condition would love to hear your guys thoughts. Looks like it has been polished but the bracelet still seems to have good shape. It’s from 1984 and from what I can tell and according to the dealer who runs a large shop has all the original parts to the watch. Watch is missing the pearl at the top which I'm not too fussed by but have found online some that match the patina on the dial Apologies if this should be in the vintage forum! |

It looks fantastic on your wrist....
i felt the same, i didn't want a new one, waited and searched for 2 years for a SSsubDate with rehaut 2009. i Love my Sub....when i look at the time or date, it makes me smile every time and with no regret! |
