FS: 1971 Rolex Daytona 6265 with Tropical Dial

FS: 1971 Rolex Daytona 6265 with Tropical Dial

Serial #: 305XXX

Description: Case: Excellent case that has been polished in the past and shows some wear from use. The stainless bezel is also in excellent condition. The pushers are newer and the original owner of the watch remembers getting them replaced at the Rolex Service Center in San Francisco. Dial: Excellent silver dial with subdials that have aged to a dark tropical brown. The right subdial has some spots that have not aged brown. All the sundials are free of marks or wear and the silver portion of the dial is clean and free of any marks. The markers have turned a creamy hue and the hands match the dial. The lume on the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock markers is partially missing. All the lume glows brightly when exposed to UV and falls off at the same rate. Bracelet: The 12 link 78350 Oyster bracelet is attached to the watch with 557 end links. The bracelet has light stretch from age and the clasp is stamped with a 2001 date code. Accessories: None. Notes: The watch was purchased in San Francisco from the original owner who was selling most of his possessions so he could move to Mexico City. "I want to get out of here start fresh in the shittiest apartment in the best part of Mexico City. Sit in a local cafe in the sunshine and watch the people walk by. Did you know that you can live in Mexico for just a few dollars a day?" - - Mr. L

Offered at: $73,550
