I'm new - 16200 question

Hi all,

I ordered my first Rolex I found on Chrono24 with boxes and orig papers. SS Datejust with oyster band ref: 16200 production year 2001/2002.

Just curious as to your thoughts on this piece. It looks beautiful and I can't wait for it to arrive next week.

I am 5'8 and have just under 7inch wrists. About 6.8 to 6.85 inches. Will this look crazy small on my wrist?

Anyway any thoughts or info on this model would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all. Love you all.

Konrad from Canada. :D

I have a 7 inch wrist and I've worn a 36mm for years. It 1 million percent won't look to small.

Congrats on your first Rolex.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Certain sizes look small on my wrist to me. I see that size on someone else and it looks fine. A friend has an older Air King and every time I see I think how nice it looks on him. It's only 34mm.

It will look perfect! I had a similar watch and I have the same wrist size as you.
Congrats, very good choice!

I am almost the exact same size and wore the 36mm Datejust for 25+ years. When I first started wearing it in 1984 it seemed massive, but these days it seems small - especially compared to my 40mm GMT's. Now my son wears it and his wrists have to be ~6.75 and it looks great on him. Congrats and wear in good health!

Size matters in the eye of the beholder. If you are currently wearing a large watch (>40mm) then the 36mm DJ will look small at first, but over time, and with continual wearing, it’ll start to look normal. However, if you change it out and wear larger watches in between wearing your DJ, it will always look “small.”

I have a 6.75” wrist and wore 44mm Panerais for several years. Initially they were large, but over time they looked good. When I went back to my 16013, it looked really small to me. So if you do get your DJ, wear it consistently and it will always look perfect.

No it will look fine. The DJ isn’t a small watch at all. Lot of people worry about 36 being too small but it’s actually a really good size for daily wear. Remember in years gone by they were considered massive. My first rolex was a 16200 as well.

No that will most certainly not be too small.
