Is Sky-Dweller blue the same as the DJ41?

Hi guys

I've been wondering whether the shade of blue on the dial with stick markers that's on the Datejust 41 is the same as blue on the steel Sky Dweller's dial?

Thanks for your help in advance.

I own the DJ41, I’ve seen a Skydweller in person but never had them side by side, they looked the same to me

Hi, your question was on my mind too serveral months ago after seeing a dj 41 blue which didnt impress me at all. Based on videos of SD blue, they seems to be the same to my untrained eyes... My AD couldnt answer me too as they have not seen 2 side by side.

On a side note, my friend’s blue face ym 126622 has a darker shade of blue (which is beautiful) and it looks like having the same color tone as the WG blue face daytona which i saw on youtube... in my opinion, they certainly look much better then the dj41 blue.

Haven’t seen it either but would strongly doubt ... why would Rolex “go” cheap and don’t try to provide distinctive shades for such a different models ... would bet the shade must be different

Datejust 41- The best blue ever. I put it up against the YM blue and blows it away. Has a really deep blue and sometimes looks like a sapphire gem. It is amazing and cleaner dial than the sky-dweller.

They're the same. I have the sky dweller and both watches use the sunburst blue dial.

There was a thread on this subject quite some time ago but I can’t find it right now....

There were several great shots of them side by side.

they look very similar but they are not the same
rolex does not share dial colours between models
even though you may think they are the same they are not
many peopel say the white dials are the same and those are not either
contact rolex direct and ask

Hi Op, Sorry to hijack the thread. Many thanks for all the reply and especially to doctorA for posting the photo.

Anyone seen the side by side comparison or have any photos comparing the daytona white gold blue dial to YM blue dial 126622 and Dj41 blue?

Thanks

Reason I ask is that I own the blue DJ 41 and am considering a S/S Sky Dweller.

If the Sky D's blue is very close to the DJ 41, then I'll opt for the white dial SD instead of wait for the blue.

Not sure if they’re identical, but definitely very very similar. The sky d does have that small sub dial that is a totally different shade of blue. It’s kind of like a flat, almost smurf blue. The contrast is actually really cool!

Thanks Chadridv, yes from all the pic the two blues look very close.

As for the sub-dial, I hadn't noticed this - thanks again!

Cheers!

I had the white and black dial skydweller and the blue for sure is the nicest imho
The white is a stunner as well!
I personally rate them as:
Blue
White (a very close second)
Black

You can’t go wrong with any of them! Best of luck!!

I have the blue DJ41 with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. I knew I would not be able to attain the blue dial Skydweller. That’s why I got the next best thing. Love the look. Same colour dial for sure.

the dj 41 oyster vs jubilee dials are different.

the oyster is darker blue, the jubilee has a lighter blue.

Nearly identical watches not withstanding the calendar complication on the SkyD.

I suspect they're the same colour except the dials have a different surface finish.
The Skydweller has a more frosted/grainy finish where as the DJ has a more Sunburst finish which can account for slight variations in appearance of the colour.
Both are stunning regardless
