Will green be the new blue (DJ Dial/2020 Basel Prediction)

Just a general thought, but after seeing the mint green datejust the colour struck me as really nice. It's a shame it's not available in the bigger size models.

With this dial being sought after in the solid gold models albeit slightly different variants, I think this may be extended to the DJ 36 and 41 and maybe even the Sky-D one day?

Thoughts? I think it's really nice.

Green is already a desired colour.

See the Hulk and the new green bezel'd Submariner.

And the yellow gold green dial Daytona.

Agree with this. Green is already extremely popular. That being said, I still really want them to bring out a green dialed stainless steel datejust. Preferably in a 36mm. I’d definitely be lining up for one. But with those being limited to the day date 40 I just don’t see it happening.

My wife tried the above watch on at a Rolex event and it was really really nice!

don't think Rolex will do a DJ41 SS in the olive green because they have the DD WG in olive green. Can't see them cannibalizing the DD WG

in any event I remember seeing the olive in 36mm DJ, unfortunately it comes off with a blue tint undertone. its doesn't quite look the way it does in pics

It wasn't the same olive as on the DD WG model

I hope they do so I don't continue to get tempted to buy the much more expensive DD WG olive dial

I agree with your point, but I think this shade of green is different. Did you see this 31? It’s a really nice shade of green. I was talking to my SA and we both think that if this is released in 41 the world would go bonkers!

Exactly the reason why I believe it will never happen. Just how they didn’t and will never give a blue stainless steel Submariner.

I would definitely be a buyer for a green dial DJ41. Sadly, I don't think it will come to fruition. The Wimbledon dial is probably the closest we'll get to it.

As much as Rolex wants me to and as beautiful as it is, I will not be ponying up 4x$ for the WG Olive DD40.

Aware of how green is on fire, but i think this may continue the trend.

If they can do this green in a steel DJ-31 what's to stop them pushing it out to the DJ41's?

I have a blue DJ41 but would be a buyer for this too, think it will quickly overtake the blue and the green will be the new "in thing" and pretty hot.

I'm not one to guess but reckon this would probably be extended to the rest of the DJ range, 36 and 41.

I would certainly want to try on that green DJ if it was available in 41mm.

I beg to differ. I wanted a steel Pepsi, they obliged. I wanted a steel SkyD, they did it. A bigger black Sub with thinner lugs, they made the SD43. I wanted a bigger TT Bluesy with thinner lugs, we've got it. Blue dial Blackbay, check. Some people wanted an updated Sub LV with a black dial, there you go. I complained about the black and white OP39s asking for more colours, they went overboard! I like to think they do listen to their fan base. Maybe I'm wrong.

You are right this is mint green not olive green. Was thinking of picking one up for my girlfriend.

The olive on the DJ TT 36 with the diamond set is an insane color. If they could put that on a steel DJ I would sleep in front of a boutique to get it.
