For those who bought an Oysterflex model second hand...

How do you get the correctly sized bracelet? Do you stop by your AD and have them exchange bands for ones that fit you?

The normal size strap fits most wrists including mine. If you need a different size, your AD will need to order from RSC and I presume that would take a few weeks

Most good AD's will help size and order appropriate pieces. These pieces are about $200 - $300 each.

Don’t they take your old bracelet pieces too? I heard something like that but am unsure of the accuracy.

Based on my experience, it's the case, at least for the RSC in Hong Kong. If the watch is new and less than one month, they can change it for free. If the watch is more one month, need to pay for the new one and they keep the old one..

RSC NYC swapped for free for me (they kept the old size), requirement was I showed the warranty card. With no card, cost was $270/side and they still keep your old one.

ADs could also source it, they quoted the same $270 and about 3 week lead time.

Big AD’s have the sizing kit and an assortment of spares and “should” be willing to sell you some as long as you have the watch and card in hand. The $270 per side is correct.

I took mine to RSC NYC as soon as I received mine from the AD. They swapped out the straps without charge after showing them the warranty card which they requested. They also damaged three of the lugs in the process and would not accept responsibility for it.

Hmmm, it almost seems worth it to bring my Bergeon springbar tool and tell them I'll do it myself while they watch.

I only let the watchmaker change my Oysterflex straps. SA’s will brutalize them... I recently had to go down in size on my OF and a smaller strap had to be ordered from Rolex, although they had several in stock.
