P.9000 running +15 seconds per day

How accurate should this movement be?

I'm trying to decide whether to send it in for service or not. I don't want to send it in for 2 months and get it back running +10 seconds per day.

Also, do you guys recommend sticking with Richemont Dallas or are there qualified alternatives?

Thanks

Have it adjusted by a PSC.

I might live with +15 for a while. This might make me closer to being on-time for things. I could not handle it it were losing that much time.

If you do send in, send to service center in Dallas. I just got mine back yesterday. They quoted me 6 weeks, but I received watch at 3 weeks to the day. Cannot complain about Panerai Service.

+6/-2 i believe are the tolerances. Maybe it is magnetized a bit, have you tried using a demag?

Thanks for this suggestion. I just downloaded the Lepsi app.

My PAM210 that's running 90 seconds fast per day got a strong positive/magnetized from the app.

My PAM393 that's running 15 seconds fast per day got a very slight positive/magnetized.

I'll order a demagnetizer. If this works, you might have just saved me about $2000

I'm reading online that I should let the watch stop running before trying to demagnetizing process.

That's good to hear. I am located in Dallas. IIRC I still have the use the mail system/Fedex instead of being able to drop off in person.

I tried a demagnetizer before sending to Dallas because the Lepsi app showed strong magnetism. But I was not successful. I bought the typical inexpensive “blue box” demagnetizer from Amazon for like $15. I am not certain the thing even worked. You may want to spend a little more for a decent one.

Haha I bought the same one off Amazon. There is one other one on Amazon for $40 but it wouldnt be here for a few weeks. I might have my local watchmaker try to demagnetize it if I'm not successful. Worth a shot before sending it in.

I dont know if that app is accurate. My 210 that's really fast sets it off easy. My 393 and Zenith barely set it off. I tried my Rolex models and nada.

I'm guessing the 210 really is magnetized and the 393 just needs service.

If the Lepsi app is accurate, all three of my watches are no longer magnetized after running them through the $14 Amazon device. I had to make 3-4 "passes" with each watch. They all showed still magnetized after one pass.

Just synced the 393 with my Iphone. Let's see how many seconds I lose/gain in 24 hours.

Hey there, I just found the same problem, and resolution, for my new PAM753 running 10 spd slow. It's now back to -1 spd.

Your thread has saved my watch a trip to the service dept; thanks!

One of the cheapest best tools to own along w an Ace Timegrapher. I never let the movement wind down though before demagnetizing the watch in the past.
