2020 41mm Submariner on New Rubber B

Just fitted my 2020 Sub with a Rubber B bracelet. I've been on the waiting list from announcement until they started delivering them last month. Really comfortable. I went for the clasp version as I can't imagine wearing a Rolex without one.

I like it looks great, I don’t understand why Rolex haven’t brought out a SS submariner version on OF after all it is a dive watch, my prediction for next year it would be unbelievable fingers crossed. And I also think you should be able to buy OF separately, imagine that would be amazing. Have a great day everyone

Don't get me wrong - I love the original bracelet. It's just that the rubber option is actually more casual and more comfortable to wear. I have other Rolex watches on SS (white dial Daytona - which I'm actually trying to get an OF for....) and PM. I also have times I want a metal bracelet and others, I don't. I can switch the RB and Rolex Original Bracelet in 60-180 seconds depending on how the spring bars behave :-). I'd also love to have some of my other watches on a bracelet rather than leather... FPJ, ALS etc.

Looked at these fitted rubber straps for a while and decided I definitely don't like them.

Weirdly I think it's the attempt to mould the ends to closely fit the case that makes it fail, for several reasons.

The strap doesn't articulate correctly. If your wrist isn't the 'right' size (seems to be for skinny wrists) then it doesn't sit well and it spoils the look.

The original steel end links are shaped to interlock and hold their place next to the case and do so elegantly, unlike the rubber straps (especially on the underside). You don't have to wrestle a bracelet into place.

It's just a rubber strap and that's noticeable when you look at it. Oysterflex holds it's form better.

A tried and tested square ended rubber strap would function better, look better and cost less.

'Uncanny valley' effect. These aren't original but look like they're trying, and just falling short looks worse than something different and contrasting.

I know Rolex are expensive but I don't think these straps are worth their price tag.

I have an original Sky-dweller on OF so I can officially comment. The OF is a better produce but really not by much. Maybe it's my "skinny wrist" but the Rubber B actually sits nicely. I've not owned any other products of theirs so I can't comment. I know it took them about 6 months to launch the 41mm version so maybe they've fixed some of the concerns expressed by others such as yourself in the past.

You can buy the OF separately. Not easy, but can be done.

Agree. If you have multiple, it's great to have a few on rubber (esp for summer and for active activities), if one is already on oyster. Why didn't you just put an OF on this sub? If you already have a OF model, will be easier to source an extra.

I think it looks like a great modification.
Oyster flex has the titanium insert so it will be more rigid, but oyster flex are not easily available and do come at a high price.
I personally prefer metal bracelets but this looks like it is well done for a rubber strap in that it utilises the original clasp and contours around the lugs well.

The lug width for this sub is 21mm. Oyster Flex is for 20mm lug width. It won't fit until they specifically produce one for the new 41mm subs. Until that happens your only option is to go with aftermarket sources like Rubber B or Everest.

The Oysterflex bracelet exists for the Sky-dweller and the Yacht-master 42, therefore with 21 mm lugs, as on the 124060 and 126610.
After, you have to see if it fits well ... And also the price difference : 250usd for Rubber against 1200usd for Oysterflex (on Chrono 24, I don't know the price at Rolex dealer)

Agree, the oyster bracelet is way to nice to replace with rubber.

I love the look and it is ok to have multiple looks. I didn't opt for the OF just the standard tang clasp and I love it as it is super comfortable and is great for the summer. Enjoy!

... also the YM40 and Daytona, and OysterFlex strap comes in different lug widths to match. SkyD is 22mm.

It looks great.

I’d personally be hard pressed to change from the brushed oyster bracelet yield. So superior to polished center links, but rubber is certainly appropriate for a Sub.

Yes, am aware this sub is 21mm. A 21mm OEM OF exists.

I didn't realize the Oyster Flex existed in that size when I commented.

I think the yachmaster nails the look this tries to achieve. Rubber with a matte dial and bezel is just so nice. Rubber with super shiny ceramic and lacquer dial... its a mish mash. a 3rd element to the mix.

But hey, it's YOURS, so that's lovely.

Looks great and will make your Sub more interesting with occasional bracelet/strap swaps. You bracelet purists shouldn’t knock it till you try it.

Try the Everest band for the Daytona, extremely comfortable...

I'll have to think about that. I'd need to get some Smartyendlinks from Singapore but that wouldn't be a problem. The Sky-dweller OF is 42mm so I'd need to pull strings for a 41mm one..........

I prefer metal bracelets myself but that looks good and it gives you the option to change things up.
