Day Date 40 Bracelet Sizing

Hello, I have a brand new 228238 day date 40 and need to remove some links from the bracelet. Did some searching but couldn’t find an exact answer to what I’m looking for.

Does the order mayter which links are removed from the bracelet? Should I start with links closest to the clasp, closest to the watch, in the middle section of the removable links, or does it not matter? I don’t want to tinker more than I have to so I definitely appreciate anyone who has experience and can provide some insight. I don’t want to take it to an AD as I’m worried they may scratch the bracelet during sizing.

All removable links are the same size and interchangeable with only a couple of exceptions.

I had a hard time getting a sorta perfect size. Had to end up ordering $575 1/2 link. (Retail $750 ) for best fit. I still with they could engineer some type of easy link in bracelet to allow with changes in wrist size fluctuations.

Smartest decision you can make.
Learn to do it yourself, if you never have. Use tape to protect surfaces and HEAT to soften the loctitie. (Don't heat the watch head itself.) Get the PROPER size screwdriver, no cheap import garbage. Cheap tools gall and slip and break.

It is easy. I learned to do it myself after having ham-fisted idiots damage bracelets and pins (aka the screws.) No one will be more careful with your watch than you. And if you do slip - you'll have a 'bit' of comfort in knowing that at least it was YOU and not some reckless untrained sales idiot who did it.
