Noob Question: GMT Cyclops has Rainbow Hue
Hello everyone, I'm new here and seeking advice/info with regards to my recent GMT 2014 purchase ( used ). I noticed a rainbow hue on the cyclops and unlike my 2017 subs which shows a little blue hue. Does anyone know if it can be removed or if it is normal/Defective? Thank you!!!!
BTW I'm familiar with Brown and Blue Hue but Rainbow is new to me :) Note: Front view/Indoors is Fine but the rainbow hue is bright/extremely harsh and distracting outside, on an angle and when hit by sunlight. I also had it cleaned with - Regular soap, dish wash soap and oakley lens cleaner - Still the same. BTW where/how can i attach a photo? hehe. Cheers! |

The simplest way to attach images is by using Tapatalk app.

I've seen the same blue and brown as you. Maybe aftermarket crystal (coronet looks good?) or some kind of chemical exposure interacted / dissolved the AR coat.

I think $130 at RSC will fix it up. LEC looks correct by the way.

Could this possibly be from the glue used to attach the cyclops to the crystal? That's what it seems like to me.

Yeh. Something definitely wrong there, maybe bad glue job, maybe badly reattached cyclops?

That's my thought as well. The glue layer is likely not applied properly and is acting as a prism.
