Current owner of a no-date sub, thinking about adding a sub41 lv
I love my no-date sub 14060M just a classic and aesthetically pleasing. Thinking about adding a sub41 lv sometime in the future if I can find one reasonably priced, but questioning if this is too redundant and will I hate having to adjust the date on a dead watch?

It’s on my list and I have a 124060. Think it would make a great addition. Not redundant. One is green and one is black. One is a sub and one is a sub date.

Very redundant. Get a GMT before another sub.

I own both.
Redundant of course. Whether that’s desired redundancy depends on a lot of factors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have two no date Subs, or should I just say Subs. Not a fan of a date on any divers so I'd suggest a Gmt. But to answer your original question I'm saying No, not too redundant.. As far as setting the date as you mentioned, not always my favorite thing but at least it's quick set.

Don't think about redundant, if you like it, go for it.
I have 4 Subs (114060, 116610LV, 126610LN and 126610LV) and 4 GMTs.

I own a Submariner and two GMTs. I, too, am interested in purchasing a 41mm Submariner date. The date function and larger size is very appealing to this large mammal. The two Submariners will be 5 years apart in age and use. Enjoy the chase!

Depends on your collection. If you have other Rolexes you should go for it. If not, you should consider a GMT or something else with PCL Oyster or Jubilee bracelet.

I think it is redundant. Never understood owning multiples of the same model.

If your collection is 10+ deep, sure, why not.
If you only have a few, why get something that has the exact same dial pattern? |

Current owner of a no-date sub, thinking about adding a sub41 lv
A collection is by its nature redundant. No one needs a collection of watches. They may want a collection, though…and their tastes (and funds) will shape that collection.
Some like an assortment of things. Some like buying variants on a single model. Collectors who become really expert tend to focus their interest…so maybe their thing is Submariners…and even differences in font warrant a new addition. To the non enthusiast, a GMT looks pretty much like a Submariner. To most here, they are completely different watches, with different functions. So, if you like a certain watch, really like it, go for it, funds permitting. I recommend against buying something else that you like less because “logic” suggests that choice. So, logic may say…”you’ve got a dive watch. Branch out”. That’s fine, if it’s what you really want. But, if what you really want is another dive watch, pass on the logical choice. Buy the watch you truly desire, not the one you think you should desire, but don’t. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Not redundant at all. They not only have different colors but they wear differently. Totally different feels...at least for a WIS.

Redundant, yes. Any watch after the first is redundant
But this is TRF, of course redundancy is not a problem. The only question is if you will enjoy it enough to wear. I think you will find modern features pleasing to the wrist. |

Nah.
I’d love to have an 80 and 200 series land cruiser. If you prefer the no date then I say do it! They are also awesome on strap. That said you would have the perfect Sub duo. One for the strap (14060) and one for the oyster (124060) |

Go for it. I have a 124060 and I don't think it would be redundant.

I thought I was bad! 4 subs (5513, 1680, 16610LV Kermit and 124060) and 3 GMTs (16750, 116718LN and 126711CHNR)…other gmt complications though.. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Redundant no. Variety in the collection based on what sings to you at the time absolutely yes. New LV sub is fantastic.
