I thought there would be a question somewhere. Also let’s not call the dial a face :)

Down the line, I may switch my black dial to blue. I hear it’s possible at the Rolex service center.

I went for the black face. The blue dial SD is nice, but it is not a timeless colour and imo there is a lot of head-scratching FOMO surrounding it.

There are cheaper ways to get that '70s Seiko' look.

Standard practice. Make a few different styles and dial colours and if one seems popular just release less of that.

Those high grey and auction prices are exactly what Rolex and other manufacturers are looking for.

So the dial swap answer will be 'no' of course.

If it’s the look you of the skydweller you like buy a Datejust 41 fluted bezel blue look practically the same looks but obviously not same movement.

Another AD full of BS. It is not impossible to get at retail, just very difficult for the most part. If it was literally impossible, there would not be any on the grey market, let alone on owners' wrists.

My AD expects to get two a year. Plus one black SS and one white SS. The blue dial version is twice as common as the other two SS models. This is not so much offset as obliterated by 10X demand difference.

Something I like about the Sky Dweller is its capacity for stealth. It's obviously not a DJ if you look/know, but it can be mistaken for one.

I really like the Sky-Dweller and have owned them in YG/WG/SS. I currently have the SS models.

Tried on a SS blue dial at a grey here in Toronto last weekend. They were asking $40K plus for it. just insane.

Same here, IMHO the blue dial looks better in photographs, but I compared the 2 in person and the black dial seem to blend with whatever you may be wearing dress or casual. To be honest, I started to like the while dial version too

I know it's a pandemic and we're all having to sacrifice but I'm not sure how you get by with only 3 Sky-Dwellers. You don't even have any jubilee models!!

I’ve read some time ago on this forum that it was possible to do it for a fee but only during service/maintenance. Who knows.
Edit: this thread is talking about a dial swap, albeit a different watch.

It was hands down the hardest for me to get. Harder than both SS Daytonas, GMTs, etc. My AD has gotten two blue dials since they came out. He averages 3-5 Daytonas a year.
