UK Price increase
Now I know you've all heard it before and I am only reporting what my SA at my local Goldsmiths told me when I popped in over the weekend.
Apparently price increase is happening for a number of Swiss watch brands (he mentioned Rolex and Omega) on 1st December. Don't shoot the messenger, just sharing what I was told, in case you were close to pulling the trigger on something and want to avoid a 5-10% increase (again the numbers he specifically said to me) Hope this helps |

In Jan 2020 Rolex prices increased 7.4% globally, does anyone know when was the last increase (globally) before that and what percentage ?

Rumors out of the UK are consistently inaccurate.

Yeah, it could be BS. The SA may be misinformed, but I know in the past when I have been told about upcoming Omega price rises it has been accurate.
He certainly wasn't trying to gee me up to buy something before 1st Dec, because he knows which pieces are on my radar and it is unlikely I am going to get the call on any of my Rolex pieces before 1st Dec. |

Omega yes, but not all models. Rolex unlikely.

I am happy to be proven wrong.
The SA at my Rolex AD told me I am next in line for the DJ41 I requested a few months back (fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet, black dial with batons), so am happy to not pay 5-10% more for it. I would be inclined to agree that I think Rolex tend to be pretty secretive when it comes to this stuff, but then not sure why the SA at Goldsmiths would have said Rolex as well as Omega unless he knew something <shrugs> |

I think we would have heard before now. Seven working days notice seems unrealistic.
But we'll know for sure soon enough. |

Sure it will be soon as hasn't been increased for nearly 2 years. Last time when the rumours started before the Xmas I was looking for some sports models. Haha. Of course none of them was available and I could only get YM40.

Does it matter? Who cares....they've (MSRP) always gone up. I smiled the other day at an Explorer 20 years old for sale at £6495 complete with its original £1500 bill of sale.

I think it may be time to visit the Goldsmith SA and ask why they lied to you about the price increase in the 1st December.

I personally don't think it will happen, they have no stock to sell.

UK has zero stock in most ADs so a price increase on nothing is still nothing
