Rolex 1500 - Buying - Advise & Thoughts

Hello All,

Looking for some input, if possible. Im looking for an entry level, daily Rolex. I would love an 124300 any color but black… lmao - joke - cant find
One of those for the life of me. In my little retailer world, is going to be very hard to find one. I am definitely not doing a grey market purchase(not happening).
Came across a Rolex 1500 - see pictures - owner guaranteed 100% authentic and money back- he inhered from a family member, no box or paper work. He gave me the following info:

Any info on sizes, conditions as per pics, cN it be service, is it worth it? etc! Thank you.

Depends on the condition the price is OK. You may check the prices on eBay for Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 34mm reference number 1500 by selecting "Sold items" to give you a rough estimate for this watch. Good luck.

The color isn’t the most appealing, at least to me, and you can get a nice silver dial one on eBay for around the same price. Not a purchase I would make but you have to be happy. And, if you really want something with a black dial, I’d recommend holding out until you find one—I can never justify spending that kind of money on my second choice watch. I’d also recommend trying on a 34mm watch to make sure you like the size before buying something—it’s too small for a lot of people, but I like the size on my wrist. Good luck!

I see that you tried buying two dress watches two years ago and returned them both (not entirely sure why you bought two and returned them), and now post a picture (X3) of an out of focus, probably after-market dial 1500. What is it you REALLY want? Do you just want a Rolex to have one? Why not get exactly what it is you want? No one has to “settle for” a vintage Rolex of any sort. It’s a hobby and passion. If you are serious about it, discover what you absolutely want, study the reference, see what’s out there, comparison shop and take the plunge. It seems like, especially with the two dress watches from two years ago, that you simply just want “a” Rolex.
