Rolex Outer Shell

When selling Rolexes, how important is the Outer Cardboard Shell? Lost mine while flying from a Trip and can't seem to find a replacement. Willing to buy one if there's any reputable sites, I just don't know how much people care about it.

Without it you don’t have a complete set and lose about 50% of the value. Might as well sell it for scrap metal at this point. How do you lose the cardboard shell while flying? Better question: why did you even take the cardboard shell on a trip?

As long as you’ve kept all the stickers on the watch, you shouldn’t have to worry about resale.

I take back my comment on another thread about spending $90 on stickers being the biggest waste of money.

Why worried about value of the new watch you are keeping?

It’s not important, enjoy the watch.

Omg bro. The outer box sleeve is of zero importance. If you ever wanted to sell the watch no grey market buyer would say it’s incomplete. Please tell me you really didn’t spend 300.00 because of this.

Oh man, I am sure if you emailed the dealer they would have taken one off another box and sent it to you, or you could just forget about it like most buyer will when you go to sell it.

Nice, so you lost $300 on your flip and you're complaining?

Rolex sucks. They should have an online warranty registry (to keep track of flipping and original buyers) and let would be buyers sign up directly with them and fulfill at ADs.

I am not sure people really care about that outer sleeve. I think you should have saved your 300.

I could be wrong though, I've never sold a watch before.

I had no idea people were willing to pay so much for these. I have about 10 of them that I think I tossed…. If not do you want to buy them? I’ll give you a deal for the entire collection $2900

The outer sleeve is of zero consequence, and is not required for a "full set". It adds zero value to the watch.

I totally agree, the smallest of details are crucial when your spending big money and you do not want anything missing regardless if it impacts the value of the watch or not.
