RG Day Date 40 Chocolate Motif Dial

To keep it short, I am smitten with this piece. It would be my biggest purchase to date by a large margin. How hard are these to get from an AD?

Unfortunately these days most ADs make watches harder to get based on their secondary price. They all monitor the prices and adjust accordingly. That said if you have a good relationship I would think it’s something you could get this year with some patience.

“Hard” in today’s watch market is relative term. I did not have any wait as I wasn’t expecting it. When it came in, the AD texted to ask if I was interested. Naturally I was. It was a good addition along with my YG DD. Below are my shots. It is not the motif dial but chocolate dial with baguettes.

It’s a beaut. Congrats!

I’ve got “a guy”, so hopefully he comes through. I’ll post pictures if/when I acquire.

I never ever thought would say it, but I now wished I got the black dial baguettes on my DD40, $4,450 more retail.

I love mine! I don’t recall requesting the baguettes but this is what was offered to me. Saw it and couldn’t resist.

All DD40s are hard to get now.

Chocolate dials are selling for like $70k+ for BNIB now. Thats a $30k premium.

Any flipper will buy it on the spot with those profits so the real collectors cant. My buddy is already waiting 14 months for his Rose Gold DD40. Still no luck and he's spent like $100k at the AD for his wife's ring and other small stuff.
