Decided to sell

Well I've filled the box of 12 and with the incoming next week, I decided one has to go.

It's the second Rolex I bought back in 1999.

Since it's my birthday and when I was picking out my watch, I decided to wear it one more time..

It just doesn't get worn anymore.

and while i was out and saw it on my wrist...I asked my girlfriend, who is pragmatic and honest if I should sell it..to which she replied ...No way..

So yeah, she's right of course.

Carry on!

I just never wear this watch...of course with not traveling and less socializing the last two years it just hasn't seen any wrist time.

I got the watch box about a year ago as a gift and it holds 12 watches..at the time I think i had 8 or 9 Rolexes..

I decided to stop at 12.

You know how that goes..

So one had to go but..

Agree, or give/loan one to a brother, friend, father, son, etc…. All my watches have some memory attached to them. Definitely difficult to get rid of one.

There has to be something else to let go other than that classic.

It was my second Rolex, the first was 16610 that I gave away..

It is true, it's been with me a really long time.. I've probably let 2 or 3 go in 25 years...

I thought for sure I was going to let the Air-King go...Got it last and it has never been worn until I put a Rubber B on it, just to change things up and it's become my daily for most of the last couple of months, along with the 214270.

The 16613 isn't stealthy and of course wasn't meant to be.

Get a buy Quote from Bobs Watches. They are offering crazy money on Rolex right now.

I would not let a few months with one make me let go of years. If you can afford to hold I'd wait past the honeymoon with some of these others. Especially since the collection grew quickly.

Not a Bobs fan... the market is weird right now. Lower buy prices and desire to consign. Too much risk. If you want to let it go I'd go somewhere I could maximize value. Happy to PM some options if you need any help.

Just recently went through some bids and they ranged 16% from min to max. Gotta shop around for sure.

You have some other watches I would let go before letting that gorgeous Bluesy go.

Also, A twelve watch box means you can have 12 watches in the box and one on the wrist. Otherwise you will always have an empty slot, and that's just not right

Tough call to sell any Rolex. Unless you need the funds, sleep on it for a month and if you still feel like the Bluesy has had its time then you know it's the correct call.

I tend to agree, if you are not wearing it and you are genuinely not enjoying it anymore then I don’t see the point in keeping it just because you have a slot in a box for it (or not in this case).

Good luck with whatever you decide and please keep us posted!

This is only temporary. We will go back to travelling and socialising like we used to do. The Bluesy is a classic and the great icebreaker "cocktail" watch. It’s a bit showy, like a nice Friday sports shirt. Every collection needs something less sober and conventional to put on a special occasion, IMHO.

It's true, added 124060, 116900, 214270, 126610LV within 16 months and getting 126710BLNR next week. That plus not being out the 16613 has gotten zero wrist time.

No pressing need for the funds now, so as you and my GF suggested as in "no fvcking way", I'll not let it go now!

WHen time comes I'd not use Bob's. I bought the Air-King and the Explorer from trusted sellers here and I'd let them know if and when I move one along..

Might be the 16622..but nothing right now!

The only other one I'd consider is the 16622 as it gets just about zero wrist time but again, own it since 1999..

I'm not letting the 16613 go for now but I'm keeping the 116713 forever!

Gotta have at least one 2 tone in the collection!

How can i expect less on this forum! I have a few not even in the box..i don't want a bigger box lol

I just had it in my head that 12 is the number and it's an absurdly big number already!

With the 126710BLNR coming next week, the Tudor 925 is giving me serious side eye.

The Cartier Santos Medium is going to go. Bought it never worn and its getting the boot! As well as the never worn Tudor Black Bay Ceramic.

Cleaning house but the 16613 is not going anywhere soon...
