Rolex Cellini Danaos Ref 4233 on President bracelet

This was $50 on Amazon, the 19mm is a perfect fit. Summer fun, this should have been an option back in the day.

It’s definitely a perfect fit, you might have some marks on your wrist after a day or so though

My wrist is going to be greener than an Irish pasture. Greener than the Green New Deal. Greener than than the Chicago River on St. Patrick’s Day.

Very cool

Tell us more about the reference… I’m not familiar with it.

The 4233 Danaos was part of the Cellini collection, which takes its name from the famed Italian goldsmith and sculptor, Benvenuto Cellini. This reference, like the entire Cellini line, is only available in precious metals.

I love these, they remain underpriced in my opinion due to the unpopular size (34mm) and being manually wound. Regardless on the metal choice (white gold, yellow gold, two tone of yellow and white gold and two tone of rose and white gold) you can still find a nice example for less than a steel Datejust.

The 34mm is misleading, the dial is about the same as a 36mm President so “wears” bigger than its size on paper. Solid gold also has a warmth and weight that give this small watch a large presence.

The notable and polerizing golfer, Phil Mickelson (aka Dill Pickelson) can often be seen wearing a white gold 4233 on a black leather strap while competing on the course.

I have a 17 year old son that I have raised on the golf course and wear this watch on a green croc strap almost every round. I plan on engraving the back with something special about our time on the links and leaving it for him one day.

Here is mine on that strap:

Some of my favorite small details about this reference are the thin case, matching gold spring bars and a lovely matching solid gold buckle:

These are powered by the manual wind caliber 1602 movement. Here is mine with the case back removed:

Such a great watch. One of my absolute favorites in the collection.

Rolex Cellini Danaos Ref 4233 on President bracelet

Very nice, have been looking lately at the slightly larger version 4243, which is 38 mm and has a deployant:
