Steel + Rose or Yellow Gold Datejust 31

Hello could I have some advice please? I’m looking to purchase a datejust 31 with diamond bezel. Currently torn between the steel + rose or yellow gold combination. I’ve tried both them on in shops and still cannot decide so please help. I’m mid 30s Asian girl with fair skin tone. Looking for something that I can wear for years so it’s a big decision!
1) Steel+ Rose gold bracelet+grey or chocolate dial with diamond bezel. I do like this as it’s more low key and like a jewellery piece. I’m not sure if this will retain value as well as the yellow gold, and not sure if this will look too young on me in 20 years’ time?
2) Steel + yellow gold bracelet + silver dial with diamond bezel. I like this as well but not sure if this will come across too flashy?

Thank you for all of your advice. Appreciate it.

So pictures would help a lot here. Here are some of my thoughts

1/ are you sure you want a 31mm? It's pretty small so it's pretty hard to tell time IMHO. Have you tried a 36?
2/ If it's a 36, I think the rose gold version would be better. If you can get the Wimbledon it would be the best combination IMHO.
3/ If you want to stick with 31, then a brighter dial like the silver is better. What about the blue dial with diamonds? In this case, you really can't tell the time very well. Also setting it is a pain when you have diamond markers only every 5 minutes. I dislike it for that reason.

oh generally speaking I would not want diamond. I just makes it hard to tell time. Makes it much more jewelry than watch. If that's what you're going for, have you consider the Bulgari Serpenti

Welcome to the forum!

The DJ31 is a perfect size for women, IMO - very elegant and beautiful. I bought my wife the two-tone DJ31 in RG with chocolate dial, which I think is the best combo (albeit without the diamond bezel you're looking for). I honestly didn't care for two-tone until buying this one, and it has rally impressed the both of us.

She's obviously white but I'm Asian and have a DD40 in RG - I think RG looks much better than YG for my skin tone. I wouldn't be too concerned about what it looks like in 20 years, as RG has been around for a lot longer than people realize.

Welcome to the forum.

I would recommend the RG and a jubilee bracelet. Chocolate or sundust dial would be great.

Ultimately it’s just your preference. Neither watch would be a bad choice.

My wife just got a DJ31 and she wanted the classic YG. She is Asian as well.

Good luck.

Also in the UK, female, and just been trying on 31mm watches! My vote goes to rose gold. It's very personal but I think it's a beautiful colour and more subtle.

Are you set on the diamond bezel? You've mentioned not wanting to come across too flashy. Have you considered fluted bezel plus diamond dial?

I'd go with the RG over YG with the diamond bezel. I think with that bezel and YG, might be a bit too "flashy"
