Incoming Black Bay Chrono with a funny story

I’ve been asking my SA for this since they were released last year. A couple weeks ago he invited me to an event title “Tudor and Tequila” but at the time I had to decline due to an out of town obligation. To keep this part of the story short the out of town plan changed and I was able to attend the event after all. Tudor partnered with the AD to host an event at a really cool local whiskey bar (even though they tagged tequila in the invite). If I had to guess there were 60-70 Tudors on display and available for purchase. It was a really good combo of Tudor team, AD SAs, watch nerds, and whiskey! Sorry, no pictures of the venue as they were pretty strict on that point.

Now to the funny part of the story. After I make the purchase and have it sized, I was chatting with my SA and a young guy in a suit and tie compliments my watch and joins the conversation. My SA introduces him as Adam from Tudor. The 3 of us talk for a while about watches, NYC, sports teams, etc. After 10 minutes or so I ask Adam what his role is at Tudor with the assumption that, like me, he has a sales territory. Adam laughs a little bit and very politely tells me he’s the president of Tudor North America/USA. Thank god I wasn’t interviewing with that screw up!

Anyway, he was a pretty good dude and the event was really cool. If anyone has a similar opportunity to attend an event with Tudor and your AD I highly recommend it.

Great story! I picked up the white chrono 2 months ago after waiting about 15 months for the call. I really like it.

In a way, I suppose your quirky story will live on in that BB Chrono. Congrats and enjoy!

Great watch & equally great story. Nothing like speaking with the head honcho.

Good story and a great watch. I own both the black and the white dial versions and they get more wrist time than my White and black ceramic Daytona's. Go figure.

I couldn’t tell. He was wearing a suit and tie and the watch was mostly covered up. I think he may have had a blue 41 mm Black Bay but that is a guess based strictly off of a memory of blue.

Congratulations! I own that exact watch, was able to get in July last year, after a couple month wait. It did have to go in for warranty 3 months later (pushers stopped working) but got it back in December and great since! Runs about 1spd fast.

Looks great on the wrist.
