How’s the dial on this red 1680?

Case and Crystal are quite rough but the price reflects that. How is the dial?

it is chipped and damaged at 11 and 12 and cannot see some of the dial due to the angle and distortion from the crystal, I don't know if it is legitimate or not. But, it is certainly damaged/chipped.

Tough to tell from that photo. Great bezel, what are they asking for it?

looks like a MK6 dial with those closed 6's and the distingctive R on Rolex. Cool watch, plenty of character/patina there. Shame about the chipping

Asking 12k but I don’t think that’s too firm.

I am not a dealer but 12k does not seem bad for that watch. If you get at 10k or under, I would be severely jealous!
The watch is not perfect, but looks honest. I personally love it and wish I was in your shoes right now!

Wow, nice watch.
prices have dropped quite a bit lately. It’s a great time to be buying.

It’s rough but for that price is not bad…
Any idea what the numbers in the case back are?

The dial is badly damaged IMO. I'm also not crazy about the crown guards at first glance, but the photos don't really show the best angles to judge.

I'd hold out for a better example. That dial damage would make the watch difficult to sell if you ever decide you don't like it. Which you probably would.

If you can afford to drop 12k on a watch, I'm betting you can also afford to drop 25k on one in perfect condition.

Yeah I think I’m going to pass. Hoping this price slide starts to affect vintage too.

As a multiple-vintage owner I hope not!
But, I get where you’re coming from.

And Zapokee is absolutely right. When spending that kind of money, “settling” for a watch is a terrible idea. It’ll both nag at you every time you look at it, and will be a pain the a** to sell it when the time comes, and you might even lose money.

Jacek has a couple of nice 1680 Red Subs for sale (no affiliation). This is more the price range you need to look at for a decent one.
