My Story

Hello Friends -

I write with a heavy and disappointed heart. Three days ago - I answered an ad on TZ:

http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...=4573100&rid=0

We made a deal on the watch for 4500 and I wired the funds to his account. A day later I called him and he confirmed that he received the funds and was enroute to the shipping agency to send me the watch. He mentioned that he would send me a tracking number...It never came. I have had no contact with this seller and he has not answered my emails or voice mail. The watch was to be shipped overnight...

I should have been more careful and I should have dealt with one of the trusted sellers here, but I had wanted this watch for a looong time and was too impulsive. He sounded nice on the phone ()

In any case, I have filed a report with the Internet Crime Unit and wanted the good people here to be aware of this seller. Hopefully this will help save someone some grief as I note that he has other Rolexes on sale.

Best,

DS

Welcome to TRF. Sorry to hear about your problem. Unfortunately, the biggest mistake you made was to wire funds to the seller. First rule of thumb with internet sales - always use credit card.

I hope everything ultimately works out for you.

Thanks for the kind words - Being new to this whole watch thing, I got a little confused.

Some people won't accept ppal, and I thought wiring money was safe...I guess I was wrong. I have accepted my mistake and chalked it up to him needing the money more than me needing the watch...I mean - I am disappointed, but let's be real - How bad can life be when I am trying to get a good deal on a rolex!?! It does not greatly impact my life or hurt anyone I know - just me - and I will be fine!

Best,
DS

Hi DimSum,

Welcome to TRF, just wish it were under better circumstances.

It might be worth getting in contact with the local authorities, or even better if you know his location getting in contact with his local authorities, I'm not a member on TZ, but this seller does have little history with only three posts. by chance did he send you any photos of the GMT? please post them in this thread and we can determine if he certainly intended to scam.

Dave.

Hi -
Yes - He did send me some photos. I will post them here. I still have not heard from him and am sure that he has scammed me. I have files a complaint with the Internet Crime people and they are supposed to filter the info to the local authorities for follow up. I have also had my bank request a refund from the seller and I am sure it will be declined.

Thanks for all the kind words,
Best,
DS
