Incoming! The most beautiful watch I’ve ever seen? Probably…

Just picked up the SBGY007 “Omiwatari”. I can’t even begin to comprehend the beauty of this watch. I’ve owned other GS in the past, but this watch just seems to be on another level. I think for me, the relative thinness (for GS) adds a lot to the feeling of this watch. The finishing is impeccable and of course…the dial. What can I say?

My phone can not even begin to capture this dial, but I had to post some pics.

Here she is with the stable-mates.

Congratulations Russ, it looks fantastic

Out of curiosity, how does the dial differ from the snowflake?

That’s a good question. The Snowflake dial has more texture to me. More matte too. This dial has a sheen and more of like a hammered type texture if that makes sense? Really had to describe these dials in words! Haha

Thanks for that Russ. I sort of wondered if what I was seeing was a gloss dial or reflection from the crystal. Either way, it’s stunning and I can see why you are smitten.

The hands and indices can also not be overlooked on GS.

Well done, enjoy it

Congrats, that's without debate a top tier looking dial. I also own a Sub and Speedy and next to it the GS just pops.

Right? I know a pretty basic, ubiquitous collection thus far…this GS adds some serious spice.

Thanks!

Thanks! Yes, I’ve been planning to do “my favorite 3 watches collection” for a bit and that originally was the classic Snowflake GS, but the Omiwatari has recently de-throned the Snowflake.

Congrats -- the Omiwatari is beautiful. You've augmented your perfect duo to now be a perfect trio. Wear all in good health

Agreed, my favourite Grand Seiko. However, you forget to mention the movement: 9R31 is a marvel. Mine does +5,9s/30 days, irrespective of wearing or resting position. True power reserve is an impressive 74,5 hours. Seiko tends to under-promise and over-deliver.

Finishing on the GS is incredible.

It is even more incredible when compared to my patek (seriously I previously posted some macros) …GS puts it to shame.

Congratulations.

I have the 253 it is a joy.

Almost pulled the trigger on that one a few times. Really wanted a bracelet for it and lo and behold, they've got one now!
