My Question About The New Daytona

A super-underrated element, in my mind, of all Daytona references heretofore has been how the thin lugs make the bracelet flow seamlessly into the case, from a visual standpoint.

All the 5-digit references had this lovely elegant visual quality – but among the 6-digit professional references, only the Daytona still maintains it.

So, what about the 126500? I'm waiting for more live wrist shots to tell (and hopefully an in-person viewing at some point 😂).

It's clear to me that the "supercase" charge is false – the new case is nothing like those of most other current professional models – but even *slightly* thicker lugs risks disrupting that seamless, elegant flow. And it does look like the new case is slightly blockier.

But I guess we'll see!

I share the same concern. The end links certainly look wider.

I like the bezel insert change and the thinner subdials but not sure about the case size and those crown guards look yuuuge.

Will see next month at my ADs preview event.

Is it that the *end links* look wider to you? Or the lugs?

The Right Side lugs are bigger, now matching the Left Side lugs …

But, is it just me … or do the 12 Series left lugs look bigger than the 11 Series left side lugs ?

I wonder how this watch would have looked if Rolex had used the Right Side lugs from the 11 Series x 4, and used those on the 12 Series ?

More streamlined / less blocky, I’m thinking.
