What would Rolex sneakily change in the new Daytona after 1 year?

So I was bored (ok, procrastinating) at work today and got to thinking about subtle changes Rolex has made to anniversary or new reference numbers after one year of production. For example, the original Kermit 16610LV had a flat four bezel only during its first year of production. The SD43 had a different font for the 1 in 1220m on the dial (and didn’t have the logo between Swiss Made) in its first year.

Do you think Rolex being Rolex, would do something similar with the new Daytona? Just for fun, what do you think it would be? Something big like bring the sub-dials or hour markers back to their previous, larger size? A font change, similar to the other models reference above?

Or is the Daytona too important for them to play these small games with?

The steel Daytona will stay the same for however long this reference runs. PM Daytonas will offer more and different dials as they have for years.

Add a red seconds hand to the newman dial on the 126518.

I can hope

I hope they change the case and bezel back to the old one! In some pictures, I think it literally looks like a replica watch. Maybe my mind will be changed as more comes out.

Nonetheless, im still on the list with my local AD!

I think they were banking on novelty to sell the 2023 dials. They will slowly keep interest high by new dials such as restoring the red hand on the newman dial and the blue on white gold, then finally a new green dial at some stage but that may even have to wait until 70th anniversary :-(

I have a feeling we might see some colour to the Oysterflex straps

One change that I’d like to see is fewer words on the dial. 5 lines of text is a bit much.
