1680 Red Sub circa 1972 opinion

Good evening guys. Have a question for vintage Rolex collectors. I'm being offered 1680 Red SUB. It was serviced in 2021 by Rolex. They did replace a clasp and crystal and did polish it as per previous owner request. It has a nice patina and , from what it looks , all original dial and hands. I'll add some pictures of the watch in question. I have a hard time establishing a fair value of this watch as there are few available for sale and chrono 24 is not a good reference for it. Owner wants 16.5K for it. Watch and service papers only, 11 link bracelet. What do you think of his price and is there anything that grabbed your attention in those pics?

You’ll get a better response in the vintage section. For vintage, it’s all about condition. You need better pics to get a good assessment.

16.5 k for any red sub that is correct is unusually low. I’d tread carefully.

Photos are useless though. Better lighting and focus on the dial rather than your arm hair. What’s the first few digits of the serial? What’s on the inside of the case back?

Better pictures needed and yes price is low, either a steal or something's not right.

Agree. An extra link for a full 12-link bracelet will be about 100 bucks, so that's not an issue.
