My Collection

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the collection I currently own. Despite not being financially affluent, I've been fortunate to have purchased each of these items at retail from my AD. My collection comprises of a Sub Date 41, a Black Daytona, and a 3861 Speedmaster Hesalite, which I've customized by swapping the bracelet with an older one for added comfort.

Affluence is relative my friend. You appear to be doing just fine and have a gorgeous watch collection. Money can’t buy that taste!

This is really nice and very versatile. Keep all of them. With two small, inexpensive purchases I think I could make that into a “do everything” collection for every occasion:

1. Buy a black, crocodile strap and steel buckle for either the Daytona or the Speedy. Something decent quality, maybe a couple hundred bucks. It will make either of those watches into a dress watch, for times when you want to have a dress watch.

2. Depending on your hobbies, buy one inexpensive “beater” watch. I always need one of those for things like golf, gardening, hauling crap from Home Depot, etc. Tough and waterproof and cheap enough I don’t worry about damaging it. Maybe a Seiko diver, for a few hundred dollars. Or a G-Shock.

Then, of course, get nato straps in every color imaginable. All three of your watches will look fantastic on natos of ANY color, because the black and silver is neutral and universal.

Nice collection you have there! Looks like the sub is your beater watch since you have the 3861 on hesalite.

First time I’ve seen a 3861 owner installing the older style bracelet. Usually the other away around but my guess is you don’t like the tapering on the new bracelet.

As for me, I chose the Apollo 11 bracelet. As mentioned above, got some straps as well for this strap monster for sure.

You need a GMT LOL
Lovely collection!

What didn't you like about the bracelet on your 3861, I got my 3861 in March and find it very comfortable.

Great collection - I do think a Seiko would round it out perfectly.

Sea, Land, Space. Nice. I’d add a 116710LN to add Air and continue the all black theme.

This Forum makes many people believe they must have a giant collection of dial colors, precious metals , complications, haute horological manufactures and watches no mortal can acquire. This is bullshit for in your face mostly insecure people to show their worth . Enjoy your collection , it’s amazing . Go with what you like and you will be happy .

Great watches, all three, congrats. I get the color theme idea, if it were me I'd want some color in there somewhere, but I get it. Next you need a pure dress watch. Given your theme choice, maybe a Cartier Santos all steel, black dial? Or any of the JLC Master Ultra Thins (drool).
