Potential trade Submariner+ cash for Annual Calendar Patek
Looking at trading a 124060 plus what I think is a pretty reasonable amount of cash to go to the 5396r with the sector dial.
I don’t currently have any dress watches or precious metal or complications so this would scratch a couple itches. 5396r is a full kit. I think I’d prefer the non sector dial but the plane dial ones seem to command another $10k somehow. Any thoughts? |

I’ll keep my sub, not in love with the Patek and the dial is too busy.

Two completely different animals in the Haut world. For use, and function IMO.
Go with your gut though, if you feel its the right choice, go for it..

being 'reasonable.' This is a special watch right here imo. |

I love the sector dial — wish they still made the 5196 with it.

Get what you truly desire. Add 10k more.
I'd keep the Sub.

Ah! Then it would seem you have to put up about $20,000 plus a 124060.
I would take the deal all day long if it was just $10,000 +124060 used Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The 5396 is 57,000 at retail. Be hard pressed to find one anywhere in the low 20s. I’ve seen a couple naked ones at 29 and change.

You should try on the 5936 before u make a decision. I remember the 5396 being quite large on the wrist…..

Don't trade for the sector dial model just because it is cheaper or you will never be satisfied. Have you considered the 5146? It has lume and is more versatile.
If your determined to go with a 5396, you might check in to the possibility of a dial change with Patek/Stern. Good luck! |

I prefer the Submariner. I get the dress watch thing and the PP thing but neither are my thing.

I never really enjoy dress watches like sports watches. I have no interest in a dress Patek, but to each their own!

See here's the thing. I've always found it difficult to contemplate a trade between such completely different watches.
My thought be would be to decide if you're more of a sub guy or a dress watch guy and go from there. |

I'm a sucker for the Patek sector dials - the 5296G is a personal grail of mine. I'd do it if the cash is reasonable and you have another sports watch.
