Daytona Oysterflex dial question

Sometime ago, I traded my 116518 yellow gold dial Oysterflex for a Paul Newman dial Oysterflex. Although I like the Newman dial, I would like the yellow gold sunburst dial back. My question, can anyone give me their thoughts on the rose gold sunburst vs. yellow gold sunburst dial?

I’m biased, but I think the yellow gold sunburst 116518LN is one of the best configurations of the Daytona, especially with its darkened hour markers and ceramic bezel. I prefer the black dial with rose gold sub dials for the 116515. You can’t go wrong with either actually, it just depends on what you prefer.

Daytona Oysterflex dial question

I like both, but slightly prefer this one for versatility. I think the PN is more sporty.

I had the pink dial it’s very nice. Just a preference of colour that comes down to you really.

I have a bit of both… different colors + different era’s.

The light return on the yellow gold one is really something. It really pops.

+1

Dial preference is subjective, but this is accurate. PN is more sporty and much more photogenic, but irl, the YG dial with black hour markers is nicer, more luxurious and the color combo is sublime - hard to capture in pictures. Have yet to see a picture that accurately reflects this dial/combo.

OP - You've owned and handled both (unlikely many have owned both variations) and know what's up. I'd try to get that back. As it's now discontinued and primarily made during the pandemic years, think this one will be a bit more special.

On OF, I prefer the champagne dial with black subdials over the PN dial. On full YG bracelet, it’s PN dial all day.

On OF, I feel the PN version is too dark with the dark strap and dial,

I prefer champagne dial over rose dial, but it’s completely subjective and you can’t go wrong with either.

My personal favorite is the 116519LN, but you can’t go wrong.

I finished reading this thread's updates, moved away to another thread, but came back to this one just to look at these two side-by-side again.

Just ... perfection.
