Hello - just joined
Hello, my father recently passed and I inherited his watch and camera collection both of which are impressive. My wife and I took care of him for many years until his passing a few months ago.
The flagship of his watch collection is a Rolex Submariner Date 126613LN (never worn, which I'll never understand) the one watch I will proudly wear and keep forever. I did notice one issue with the watch bracelet (and maybe this is why dad never wore it); the easylink (where you fold it down after adjusting) won't stay snapped down. There is no satisfying 'snap' when folding it down onto itself - it's like the springpin isn't the right one (now my dad was well-known for messing around with his stuff and in his later years with dementia he did much that I've had to undo to make things saleable) or... I don't know. Regardless, I've watched several youtube videos on how the easylink is supposed to work and this one looks perfect but just doesn't snap down or stay put. If I put the watch on, it will eventually pop apart and the springpin drops out. Not good. Any ideas? We live in the rural and there are no AD's within 100 miles.... Thanks in advance Jeff |

Welcome to the forum Jeff.
It might be worth taking it to an AD the next time you travel into the city. Otherwise, if service history is unknown, it might be time to send it in fir a service anyway. You can do this directly with RSC if you choose. |

I figured it out...
So the problem was related to the spring bar. The diameter (1.5mm) of the one that was in there was too small. I replaced it myself with the correct spring bar (2mm) and voila! problem solved. Now how the wrong one was ever in there in the first place... I can only image that my dad used it for one of his other many watches and replaced it with the wrong size.
