Can you add aftermarket straps to 116509WG?

I'm interested in acquiring a 116509(WG Blue Dial), but only if it's possible to change out the full bracelet to a 3rd party strap. It has a 20mm lug but most of the large strap providers such as Rubber B actually do not support this Daytona model. There's been a few other threads on this forum talking about daytona precious metal versions not working with various straps.

Does anyone own a 116509 that was able to put on alternate straps without a gaping hole? Do you need to buy special custom endlinks? If so, would love to know what I need to be able to put on standard 20mm lug width leather and rubber straps.
