1962 5512 PCG on ebay all service parts
Random idea for me if I can source a good dial for this what looks like a solid PCG case?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/15603507808...YAAOSw9RZluUyC Other than the value being destroyed by whomever previous owner getting the dial, hands, and insert swapped to service luminova parts, is this a solid case/it appears 98%+ of the original metal is still there after RSC polish? Ass-u-ming I could source a good original gilt dial, would this be a decent buy? |

Is this dial radium? or is it tritium, given the exclamation point at the 6?

I’d say a lot less than 98% of the original metal on that case is still there.
And besides buying a good chapter ring dial, you’ll need hands and an insert…and a bracelet. At that point why not buy an original complete version?

If too much metal is already missing from the case then there's no point, but it still looks like the lugs are still pretty beefy?. I never use the bracelets I always wear them on straps so I wasn't worried about that part.
I was just bored and looking for a project... |

Does this reference even have PCGs. I thought that was for early 1675 GMTs. This 5512 just looks like it's severely polished on the guards.

The 5512 has square, eagle beak, pointed and then rounded crown guards.

Unless you already have the parts sitting around, it's not a cost-effective way to get a gilt 5512, IMO.

£5500 would be my jumping-in point, and I have a few of the bits to do it ....
$12k is insane imho.

I figure it is worth the price of the case and movement, not much else

Is the bracelet genuine? The links look like a 93150, but the clasp doesn't seem right ?
