Fired

Who at rolex is going to get fired for this video being linked? Will Kevin O'Leary be first in line for one of the new daytonas?

I always get the popcorn in the weekend before every year. This always happens. IG is awash with fakes, interspersed with some real leaks that sometimes people gloss over. Last year a tech guy reverse engineered all the placeholder pages by guessing the new reference numbers and figured out what is coming.

Each year, someone crawls through hypothetical mud to provide the world with a "scoop" a few days early, which in reality pales into insignificance given the high quality imagery circulated at noon, the multiple YouTube videos demoing the pieces and the fact that none of them can be purchased for at least 6 months even for the very best of clients.

In short, it's a circus. I've never seen so many (mainly) grown men get so heated and loose their sh*t over such an insignificant thing. I do enjoy the real releases however.

No one is getting fired. Rolex probably leaked it themselves, and this is not one of those conspiracies. It’s just what companies do nowadays.

"Leaks are okay because they increase mystery," he said. "No one knows for sure whether they're accurate, but it inflates the publicity machine. It’s a byproduct of implementing secrecy," Forrester analyst Ken Dulaney told Wired in an email.

i was hoping for a perpetual calendar. Love the SkyD and it would be great to see Rolex back making perpetual with moon phase.

If all Rolex weren’t pretty much the same (except 1908) this might actually be interesting.
