wrist 6.5 inch - gmt master II

hi all
i'll soon have a DJ 36 and I'm also on a waiting list for a gmt master II pepsi

question is, is a GMT master too big for my wrist?
see picture below.
discovering the DJ 36 instead of 41 showed me that a watch can easily be too big.

IF TOO BIG - which (sport) rolex watch would be a good fit as a 2nd watch?

Looks good to me. I'd stick with the GMT decision.

Jubilee saves it, it is the shortest lug to lug. If it was on the Oyster it might look too big.

Too big IMO. A 5 digit reference GMT Master 2 would be a better fit.

That's the thing it wouldn't purely because the 5 digit bracelets has 4 fixed links on the 6 side meaning it would be 5 links minimum on that side. It would be uncomfortable to wear for those with small wrist.

Welcome to the forum

Take that picture from 3-4 feet away in a full length mirror … I bet it looks perfect

thx for the many and quick replies ! :)

regarding the bracelet, i'd probably go for an oyster bracelat as i will already have a jubilee on the DJ 36

does it make a big difference in size? oyster vs jubilee?

thx!

It is fine, look at it from a bigger distance in the mirror. I have a 6.3" wrist and wear it with zero issues, same goes for Sub41 and Exp2 42mm (which is 51.5mm lug to lug).

Examples, small wrist but flat, 6.3".

42mm Exp2:

SubC41 vs GMTII, same lug to lug:

Quite smaller, 48mm lug to lug, visible difference against Exp2 (51.5mm).

I believe the only time the GMT appears too large on me is in pictures.
On the wrist to the eye, my 40 mm is great. My SkyDweller 42mm on the wrist wears and looks a touch too large.

Brother you wear that Exp II like a champ with a 6.3 inch wrist. I have a 6.5 ish and I thought it might be too big for me. Might have to look at trying one on.

Thank you for posting these pictures. It really helps to understand how watches fit. With a 7 inch wrist, I think I could rock a Exp2 if you can :)

Serious contender for post of the year. All the above look like a great fit.

To me, it's a tough call.
It's close to too big but it could work.
As said above a 5 digit wears a little smaller and would be a better fit
BUT
You can pull it off. It's your money and you are the one wearing it so you need to decide what you think.

It’s too big. Get an Explorer 36.
You should aim for it being no more than 2/3 your wrist surface.
These days people wear big, but it doesn’t make it right!

Same suggestion I was going to make. I have a 6 1/4 inch wrist, so deliberately stick to 36 mm Rolexes. My next will be the Explorer 36, since my son talked me out of my last one. His wrist is about your size.
You can pull of that GMT, but I’m not sure you want to. Get the Explorer. It’s a very cool piece.
