AT rotor spinning when winding with crown

Wifeys new AT 34mm. 8800 cal. Noticed that the rotor spins when winding the crown. Only happens when held horizontal, not when it’s vertical.
Keeps good time.
Do I need to be concerned.

It's not supposed to do that (I assume you knew this ). Since the watch is new then this can and should be corrected under Omega's warranty policy.

My 14060M did this once because contamination from wear had caused friction on the face of some gear plates.

A service was required.

But a new watch shouldn’t have this issue.

Something is out of alignment?

A warrant visit is required?

Sitrep … after a day or so on a winder and a few hours wear it seems to be ok now. So it aint ‘broke’.

It's possible that oil on the surface can cause adjacent gears to ride along with those forcefully moved by winding. Too much oil can be an issue just as too little can.

It creates a hydraulic connection between gears and plates rather than an actual mechanical connection.

Similar to my thoughts.
Conjecture …
As the 8800 use a dry ceramic rotor bearing then theres very little (if any) startup inertia required to get the rotor to move . (Very low stiction in the bearing) Any drag imposed by a hydraulic connection is transferred to the rotor mechanism but as theres very little resistance the rotor starts to spin.
Thats just guesswork on my part.
