Is rubber B worth the extra cost over everest?

I am considering a rubber strap for my sub. There are two obvious options; rubber B and everest.

Rubber B is considerably more expensive compared to Everest. Everest (including VAT, shipping, and free tool kit with promotional offer) is £192.

Rubber B is $280 (around £215) including shipping. This doesn't include the VAT/import tax which would be around another 40/50 pounds. And also it doesnt come with a tool kit (screw driver etc).

So I wanted to ask if people think it is worth paying the extra for rubber B? I do like the style of rubber B a bit more (it seems sleeker and more modern) but I have read in some reviews that the style may not suit large wrists (I have over 8in wrist) as it bends bit sharply from the lugs to the wrist whereas everest is bit more rounded.

Any views folks?

I’ve never had an Everest, so can’t speak to the value compared to the Rubber B. But I think what I paid for the Rubber B I have for my GMT LN is 100% worth it.

I have the one with the green strip that matches the GMT hand. Everest didn’t offer that so I didn’t really look at them.

Love my rubber b. My friend has an Everest that he likes as well. Both seem solid.

I have both and feel the quality is about the same IMO. I went with color/styling preference for the watch it was intended.

Well for what they are a rubber strap both over priced foe what they are but once you associate anything with Rolex the price quadruples, as for quality about the same by no better that the ones from say Seiko or Citizen.

I have owned both and have never had an issue with either. Can't say one is better than the other.

Is this info on RubberB's website? How do you know this?

According to Hublot's website they make their own straps sourced from raw rubber materiel.

I think Hublot is making their rubber straps with the same 2 very well-known rubber strap suppliers in Switzerland. One of these 2 suppliers is also making the Oysterflex for Rolex

And I have never heard of a Watch manufacture making rubber straps with Rubber B...

I guess you can say that about our coveted watches too.

Do you have any other rubber strap suggestions (besides Trojan)?

I have an official AP rubber strap for €360 and also a €10 Amazon rubber for my Moonswatch, I honestly can't tell the difference in terms of comfort or quality between the 2...

I just don't do rubber on modern Rolex, personally I find it a downgrade. It's clearly a trend though, plenty of people doing it, just not my thing.

I'll do aftermarket leather on other watches though no problem.

Rubber B just looks better on the wrist. Exception would be a short lug-to-lug on a large wrist. In that situation I prefer Everest.

I have had both. I prefer Everest. Rubber B straps angle more downward at the lugs, whereas Everest straps follow the same angle as the lugs. I found this to result in a better and more comfortable fit. I think the quality is comparable between the two.

Me too. $200+ rubber straps are ridiculous. I use Barton Bands for less than $25 on most of my Seikos, and Strapsco has some fitted and straight end ones for Rolex for around $60 that are absolutely as nice as the other oft mentioned brands.

Wow, I had no idea Rubber B straps were so expensive. Just looked at their straps for an Aquanaut, and they’re more expensive than the OEM Patek ones ($250 vs $226).

I don’t have any experience with Everest. However, I can’t complain about my RubberB strap on my Tudor. It has held up well over time. This is going to be my third summer with it.

I agree that Everest is more comfortable for my wrist. I don’t have a small wrist and therefore the rubber b angling down is not comfortable on me. Plus, Everest utilizes straps with easy link. I do not understand why rubber b can’t do the same.

Oh, that's funny. I looked more in depth about that. Because they also say "Our factory is located in Switzerland, and all Rubber B straps are 100% made in Switzerland". There's not a ton of rubber straps producers in Switzerland.

I found that the Rubber B company in France is registered under the name of the founder of Biwi, one of the rubber strap producers in Switzerland.
So it means that they are producing all the Rubber B straps at the Biwi factory.

But that's good news, their quality is indeed very high!

You can find uk stockists for rubber b so don’t have to pay the shipping and import duties. Try blowers jewellers. Have bought rubber b from them in the past for a Deepsea and also a Panerai

What about Barton straps, or the many on Alibaba. Many great choices for straps.
