Is this bracelet genuine? Day Date 1967

I am a new member and have had my SS Daytona for 3 years now and love it. My father has now developed an interest in Rolex but isn't keen on the traditional Rolex straps. He has been searching for one he likes for a while, then came across the following in London a week ago. 1967 Day Date with a mesh type strap in watchclub.com what I can't seem to find out is if Rolex ever made such a strap and if it's likely to be genuine. Called Rolex who weren't much help.
I would really appreciate any help.
The link below is to the site and watch.

Purty enough for 7,000 pounds?

I would have to see it up close or better shots of the bracelet but Rolex did make a bracelet for the day date like it.Here is a link to many mesh Rolex Bracelets I put in the reference section. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=73646
As the passion for this grows you might get the itch to track down a bracelet like this to try it.I have had 1 and it was very comfortable.Just not me as the 36mm is a ladies watch nowI dont know maybe if I was 150lbs again but at 210lbs it doesnt look right...................Im hitting the gym I must be crazy too many day dates sitting

Thanks for the replies! So looks like it could well be a genuine Rolex strap. Although the website says £7000, they were quoting £6,000 in the shop. Would you say that was expensive for a day date of that age?

yes I would say you can find a nice modern double quick set in that range here in the USA $7-$9,000 US dollars
If you want to go low budget I would look for a 1803 they can be had around $3000 US dollars without the bracelet and you can get a number of different straps and go that route.

That's a beautiful watch, especially considering the age. My guess is that they are charging alot more for the weight in the band. Even thought the watch is nice, the price seems very high.
