What's the difference between a Y Series and M Series Datejust?

Except for it's continuous bracelet on the M series. Does anyone know the difference between a Y and an M series DJ ?

The DJ by I believe 2005 ("D-Z) had a face lift. The baton barkers were lumed, lugs polished and such. More "substantial looking."

I agree, there were quite a few changes to the style

An M series Datejust has a wider looking case known as the supercase. The links on the bracelet are completely solid throughout, even on the middle. On the Y series Datejust, they were hollow throughout the center links. In addition to that, the center links on the M series are now high polished regardless of the bracelet style. The clasp was also redesigned on the M series. There are also new and different dial variations for the M series watches with a wider selection of dials. The minute and hour hands are also a little more thicker on the M series and some models have a black/red alternating date font instead of just all black on the Y series.

The movement used on the watches are still the same and the case diameter remains unchanged at 36 mm.

The M datejust is likely to have the RolexRolexRolex rehault as well.

Great report, Jerome

You've described exactly how my 2007 version is put together

In summary, Y series watches had un- or less- polished center links?

Current production had highly polished center links.
Might F, D, and Z series watches come either way?

If one does not desire highly polished center bracelet links, what's the best plan of action?

The easiest way to tell is the model# as an example; 116200(newer) 16200(older). My DJ is an F series and is still a 16200, though that's when the 116200 also debuted.
