Anyone have Tudor 58 and GMT?
Which do you prefer after owning both? Got a chance to as wel (currently own a 58). Got other divers so it should be easy call but the 58 is perfect. GMT is close, just wish it wasnt 41mm / 15mm thick
Looking for your experiences. Thanks! |

I only own the GMT but have tried the BB58 on in store along side the GMT. I agree the 58 is a perfect size but the GMT is an outstanding watch and would definitely complement the 58 in your collection. I got used to the size very quickly and the retro pepsi colours of the bezel and the accuracy of the movement are outstanding. Especially with the true GMT hour hand jump function.

I'm the exact opposite. I took a look at one recently and was way too small for my liking, almost dainty for a diver. 41mm / 15mm thick is perfect in my book.

I think the 58 is perfect for my puny 17 cm wrist. Found the case a little top heavy on the GMT & BB Chrono(same case pretty much/different bezel). Didn't own the GMT but used my mates for a few days. The 116610 is slightly large-ish but still feels amazing, don't think it feels as large as the GMT or BB Chrono. Maybe it's just the way it sits idk. They're all beautiful & high quality pieces & I'm sure you would enjoy any of them but the best bet is to to try them on first.
If you can't find a GMT exactly at an AD(haven't seen one in a while), try a shop. There's one in TK (but highly inflated) if you wanted to try one on, if you're in Sydney that is. There's tons floating around that people are having a hard time selling for over retail. Maybe due to the date issue idk, but that's what stopped me buying it. With the new price increase, Tudor prices have caught up with realistic market value/prices & next year probably with flipper asking price. I'd suggest new or 2020 one if you want a 5 year warranty but a 2019 model will get you 36 months not 2 year as originally. Tudor extended warranties last year. The newer the better imo because of the date issue that many people had problems with. Newer ones have upgraded new movements I hear. All the best! |

I own the GMT. In my opinion the 58 is riding the noir vintage wave and is likely to not hold onto the popularity. The GMT is on the other hand is a unique complication for Tudor in their most popular model family. I can see it having appeal for a longer time than the 58.

I've owned both and liked both. GMT was too big for me, but if your wrist can stand up to the bigger size, i'd go for that one (go try it on if you can, or one of the similar-sized pieces in Tudor's collection). I absolutely loved the look of the GMT, and other commenters are right that, while lovely, the BB58 is riding the 'heritage' wave and I ultimately felt like it wasn't really its 'own' watch.

After seeing both in person, the BB58 on bracelet is absolutely stunning and the better option imo if you’re not dead set on the complication. The GMT was nice too but it was a bit too bulky for my 7 inch wrist. I ultimately decided to get the BB58 because I found it was more versatile and could be worn for both formal and informal occasions.

I own both. The thickness of the GMT needs some getting used to, but ultimately I found myself liking how it felt on my 17cm wrist. Have limited wrist time with the BB58 as it has not left my missus wrists for almost a year now. the BB58 is a more versatile watch and you can't go wrong with it.

I have the GMT for quite a while now. It’s in Switzerland for the date wheel issue fix (second time) - so I tried the 58 recently at an AD and surprisingly wasn’t as smitten with it as I thought I would. I was ready to purchase it right away but it simply wasn’t for me.

If the gmt was around 13mm it would be perfect. I felt the same way about my planet ocean. Perfect watch but the thickness eventually became too much for me.

I agree on all fronts. But to that point, none of the successful tudors over the brands history stood on their own (including GMT). Rolex always seemed to use Tudor to produce alternative versions (almost homages) of its iconic models. Yes, I can do without the rivets and faux patina, but nonetheless, in-house movement, 39mm, 11mm thick, 70+ power and brilliant accuracy - the watch stands for more then its vintage aesthetics. The GMT is a bit more unique though and I definitely see it holding value in the long run (though this isn’t significant to me). It does come with that dreaded BB size which I am sure some love. I just don’t. I will definitely go try it on to see how it feels on my wrist! |

I have the 58 and have tried on the GMT a few times. I have a 7 inch wrist and am one of those people who don't mind wearing very different sizes and weights. When I tried on the GMT I felt it was on the large size but because of the bevelling it worked ok for me. I have since bought the Heritage Advisor which is a similar size and I wear that without any concern. That and the 58 compete for wrist time and I love them both - my advice is get them both if you can, if you can't then toss a coin?!
