Good timing on this. I have a Blk and have been wondering if I’d like the blue. A god friend sent me his. It’s very striking and of course rarer and more valuable. But if it’s just straight up classic looks the black is awesome. It blends better with the bezel. I still can’t decide.

Both are awesome. I’ve owned both. Black is a real classic. The Blue looks cool, seems more desired, with better resale.

I went with black. Classsic and never gets boring. Blue may be cool at first but you might want the black later...

Owned both, kept the D-Blue; really dig the pop of colors.

The prices are relevant to the resale if you choose to sell it down the road. If you love the watch anyway just go for the dial you'd rather look at everyday. Personally I'd go for the black and save the money up front, obviously the JC is a beauty although black has always been my color of choice especially on a diver. The black dial seems to be the rarer of the two not that its unloved but only because it's been overshadowed by the more popular radiant dial. I know I wouldn't feel left out, I like the black and it goes with everything. If it wasn't too big for me I'd have it instead of my Subc.

I would get the blue. That's a special dial.
If the blue didn't exist on the DSSD, I'd be perfectly happy with the black, great watch. But the problem is, the blue DOES exist! |

Thanks for all the feedback ya'll. After lots of back and forth I've decided to go with the iconic and classic black. The blue is stunning, but I'm an old soul at heart. Black divers never go out of style.

The JC unless in bright lights or direct sun shine looks almost black. There is a reason the JC is higher priced go for it. A black dial diver one in a million. The JC one of kind Rolex stepped out of the envolope on this ref. which they never do !

Great choice. I like the green text on the JC but hate the blue gradiant. Either in pictures or in-hand I don't like the look of it, plus the DS is loaded with features that highlight it's function and it's capabilities; the JC dial seems to me to be superfluous and (trying to be careful with my words here)...a little bit tacky.

There's something special about the JC. Had the black for a while but it was just a "big Sub" to me (although the matte was killer).
Ultimately had to switch it up. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

I got both because the DSSD is my favorite watch and figured if they ever discontinue it, I'd like to have a backup. While I love both, I simply gravitate towards the black model. The dial is perfect in my opinion. The blue ig's awesome but not quite as crisp and clean as the black. Hard to explain because the blue is still so badass.

Way too many D-Blues out there for me.
I was considering a trade, but definitely not anymore. I like the fact that the black is less popular, and not to mention, very classy! IMG_0400.jpeg
