Rolex RC

I stopped by the official Rolex RC in my City to have the bracelet on my Sub ultra-sonically cleaned. First time with the Sub.

I've done this before with other Rolex models. I prefer to go and get this done at Rolex rather than the AD as I've heard too many stories about AD's scarring up the lugs when they try to release the springbars.

In any case, the lady at the service desk informed me that they have an new system in place where they can now store your personal data in the computer when you come in and drop watches off for any kind of service. So, I gave her my information and she did the set up.

Here's my question, although all I had done was have the bracelet cleaned, do you think she added the serial number of my Sub to that database under my profile? Reason I ask is, maybe I'd take my other 2 in for a cleaning just to get them on the database.

Rolex RC

Wouldn’t asking her directly produce a more conclusive answer instead of soliciting our speculation?

You are correct, but it was very busy that day in their location and I didn't think to ask.

My contribution to the speculation pile They probably did include the serial number. Are you concerned?

Absolutely they include the serial # to your profile with them. Did you receive a receipt of any kind? If so, your name and watch description, including serial number will be on that receipt which is proof they have now tied that watch to you as the current owner.

No, I received nothing back from the admin. In the past I never received anything either for any of the other models I ever brought in for a cleaning. The watch left my hands with the bracelet still on, and when she returned it to me later after the cleaning, the bracelet was on the watch. So unless the watchmaker wrote the serial number on a separate piece of paper, I don't know if she even saw the serial number to put into the computer.

No concerns here. Just interest.

I reckon they send all reg details to the federal government, who then shares them with Russia, to China etc. You're on the watch list now, just because you couldn't get the soapy water and toothbrush out for a quick rinse!!
